"Well eating and working out are two different things. But today isn't really good," I sighed. Kinzy being her usual nurturing self turned to look at me.It was more or less of an examination, and she may not have seen the problem, but she knew there was one. "Where is baby boy at," I asked before she could start being inquisitive. "He's with his daddy. They were going to a water park along with James and his kids," she said rolling her eyes. Just when I thought I'd gotten away with it, "So why are you trying to get me talking," she continued and asked? "It's nothing. I was just curious, but we should do something relaxing today since you don't have to watch Joshua," I said avoiding the questions and, leaning against the wall.
"What do you have in mind," she folded her arms? I could see the skepticism on her face from my aversions. So I offered an idea she couldn't turn down, "Lets go get our hair done and I'll finally try the red dye in the front," I smiled. "Ooo, and nails," she said brightening up. I nodded, anything so I wouldn't have to tell her the truth. "Girl you ain't say nothing but a word. Go get dressed and lets get out of here," she smiled brightly. Hopefully this would get my mind off of my financial issues, and Nikko. Those damn eyes just wouldn't leave my memory!
-----Kinzy----
I knew my girl was stressed the minute she answered the door. We'd spent the entire morning together and she'd hardly talked. Not to mention she was walking all stiff and what not, and her eyes looked like she's been crying. Sometimes I wonder if me and Ebony are as close as I think we are. It seems like she keeps secrets from me until the secrets are about to blow out of control. Me being the person I am, I refuse to force her into telling me. All I can do now I guess is hope she's okay and that Kollins isn't playing a role in her turmoil. Poor Ebony really does deserve the best. I paid for our hair and nails, to Ebony's disdain and now we were at Olive Garden for lunch. Ebony was really turning heads with her new hairstyle. I mean red just works for her.
"I knew you would look good in red," I teased for the hundredth time. "Yeah, and I wonder how you would look in black," she chuckled looking at her menu. "Well you keep wondering, because I'll only wear black hair for my wedding."
"I thought the bride was supposed to stand out," Ebony joked.
"Nah, I stand out just by beauty alone. I don't need the red hair on my wedding day," I said making her laugh.
"If that's the case, then I guess I won't be your maid of honor. And Jyrell was looking so forward to that," she said catching her breath and sipping her pink lemonade.
That's right,I had always thought about marrying Jyrell. As of now though I don't know. I just feel like we'll never get back together, because him quitting in the game just doesn't seem to be in the near future. I'm not getting any younger and I'm getting tired of waiting for him to get right and want to settle down. If he didn't get out of the game by the time I started as a Veterinary Tech, then I'd cut all ties to him beside's the one that made us parents.
"Yeah or whoever else proposes first," I mumbled. This whole conversation was depressing and I didn't really want to talk about it. "It's almost time for your graduation, are you ready," Ebony asked me? Automatically a smile spread across my lips. "Girl I have been ready since I got into the Vet Tech program! I'm so tired of working at that fucking club," I sighed. "I hear you. But I'm trying to save a little extra money, so I'll be working extra hours at the club and at Starbucks," Ebony said softly. So that's what she must have been so depressed about, maybe she needed money. She worked at the Starbucks downtown in the airport during the day. Then she went to afternoon classes, which thanks to summer break coming up she'd be free from soon. "I could loan you some money," I started to say but Ebony quickly waved me off. "Nah, it's nothing serious I just want to save up. You know just in case of an emergency," she said still looking down at the menu. I sighed and looked for something to eat myself.
