"I love you."
The words echoed in Scorpius' ears, permeating every thought and expelling it from his mind, clamouring to be the center of attention.
"You- you do?"
Albus laughed, the joyous tone pushing back the faces that lurked in the black shadows of the shed. "I've loved you ever since the moment I met you; the first day on the Hogwarts train."
The Malfoy looked shyly down, and an awkward blush coloured his pale cheeks. "You have no idea how much it means to me to hear that."
Albus searched for Scorpius' hand in the onyx darkness, then entwining their fingers when he found it. "I think I do," he whispered.
He leant forward, his other hand reaching out to touch Scorpius' face-
Suddenly, a phone buzzed, interrupting the moment.
Not tearing his eyes from Albus' face, Scorpius reached into his back pocket of his jeans to retrieve the mobile.
Bringing the faint light of the screen to his eyes, he inhaled sharply. "What is it?" Albus inquired, concern seeping into his tone.
Scorpius' chest exhaled shakily, his fingers threatening to drop the phone with their slippery grip. "It's my father- he's calling me."
