When Dylan's phone rang at five in the morning he didn't know what to expect. He picked it up and heard Zach sobbing on the other end. Dylan's heart sunk when he heard his friend crying. He calmed Zach down well enough so he could actually understand what he was saying.
"Zach, tell me what happened," Dylan said soothingly so he wouldn't upset him anymore. "B-bailey is, she-she only has one week l-left until," Zach stuttered but then he started crying all over again. "Zach where are you?" Dylan asked. Zach told him he was at the hospital and he was with Bailey. "Ok I'm on my way," Dylan said as he put on his slippers, grabbed his coat and keys, and drove to the hospital.
As soon as Zach saw Dylan he ran to him and Dylan embraced him in a loving hug. Zach tried his hardest to keep his tears from falling once more, as he buried his face into Dylan's chest. Dylan didn't say anything, he just held him while cried.
After a while Zach regained himself and wiped his eyes that were now puffy and red. "Thanks for coming. I would have called Easton but his phone broke again," Zach said. Dylan nodded understandingly. "So can we go see her?" Dylan asked. Zach nodded and they headed back towards Bailey's room.
Out of habit Dylan grabbed Zach's hand and Zach looked up at him with a slight smile on his face. Dylan returned the favor as they walked in a comfortable silence through the hospital.
