All I felt was the ice digging into my skin. I knew there was something wrong, because all the icicles weren't above me any longer. They were crashing down to the surface of the cave as the ground shook. The rocks came down, my fragile body directly in their path. I panicked; that wasn't how I wanted to die. Was that how anyone wanted to die? I didn't know, nor did I believe I'd have enough time to figure it out.

The snow normally felt like a blanket to me, like a blessing, but it felt like a curse at that moment. My thick brown coat did nothing for me as I crawled out of the collapsing cave with all I had.

I refused to give up. There was nothing that could keep me from living, apart from a few icicles. What was that to me, though? I wanted to believe it wasn't able to kill me. I wanted to, but I couldn't. The cold kills even the most resistant when it hits their breaking point.

My legs trudged through the snow when I built up enough strength to stand upright. The snow pushed me down like a ton of bricks. I fell back to the cold deathbed, and I could only whisper one thing before I was completely submerged.

"So, so cold..."
