at the afterparty,

i see little kids swarm around

the dance floor,

dancing happily to

the upbeat music

that's playing loudly.

i look at you,

and you return my look,

and i can't seem to turn away

from you.

my mind thinks back to the day

you purposed to me,

four years after

we settled in our relationship.

it was a cold january day,

small snowflakes falling onto the white ground.

we were drinking hot chocolate,

and you were constantly asking me

if i was warm,

and i replied yes every time,

because i didn't want to worry you.

we spent an hour talking.

i enjoyed seeing your handsome face smiling

that the cold didn't bother me much anymore.

the sun set and night soon fell,

with transparent clouds residing over us.

the lights that shone down on the restaurant

suddenly all shut off,

and i was surprised,

making sure that you were there with me

so i wasn't alone.

the lights were on again after a few seconds,

but everyone was surrounding us,

and you were on one knee.

i was too stunned to talk.

"kwon areum."

i smiled.

"marry me."

i liked how you didn't even ask me,

simply stating a remark.

i nodded my head,

kissed you softly on your lips,

and people around us cheered,

as you put the ring on my finger.

my thoughts were interrupted

when someone cleared their throat

in front of me,

causing me to look up

and see where the noise had come from.

jungkook.

oh.

"hi, um...areum,"

"hi, jungkook," i replied.

i looked around to my side,

and you must've had gone off to play

with your cousins.

"congratulations on getting married."

"thank you."

silence.

it felt like when you and i met again

after my college graduation.

"how have you been?" i asked

to avoid tension.

"good, good," he repeated,

and made sure his hair was okay.

he hasn't changed over the days that have passed.

it reminds me of our old relationship.

jungkook looked up at me,

and smiled.

"i found love again."

my heart lit up.

"really?"

"yes. it's minji."

i smiled at the thought of them together.

i was so glad he was okay again,

and forgave me after i hurt him.

"thank you for giving me the

opportunity to find myself.

without you,

i probably wouldn't have found minji."

he beamed,

his cute teeth popping up.

"i should be the one thanking you."

we smiled at each other for a moment,

and he nodded his head.

minji appears behind us,

and takes hold of jungkook's arm.

"hey, areum! i requested a song,

we should dance."

minji dusted off her dress,

and i nodded my head,

and turned towards jungkook,

who seemed very happy

while looking minji,

which made me happy.
