Chapter 18: Home Not so Coming

Start from the beginning

"I think that s a wonderful idea. Why don't you call your lot and I call mine."

"Okay." I said and rushed to get my phone.

I dialed Caine's number, and of course he answered on the second ring.

"Hey Jazz, whats up?"

"Long story short, a man whom I have despised since before I turned is dead and I want to have a celebration. I want you and the rest of the pack to come back to Mystic Falls for the celebration. And also bring the new guys who I've sent down along too. Do you think you could do that for me?" I asked hopeful that I would get to see them again.

"Sure. We should be there no problem. Can't wait to see you."

"I can't wait to see you as well." I said and hung up the phone.

I guess Nik finished talking to his guys, because he was in the car waiting for me.

"Okay now let's put some petal to the metal, baby and get home."

"Whatever you say love, whatever you say."

*************************TIME SKIP*****************************

It took us quite a few hours to get to Mystics Falls considering it was on the complete opposite side of the country.

We made it to Tyler's house in time to see that the party was already jumpin.

There was a band playing on a stage in the backyard so that's where we went.

Nik helped me on stage and then helped himself on stage.

"Good evening, everyone. " I said into the mic.

The band automatically stopped playing and there were cheers galore  in the audience.

"I wanna thank you all for being here with us to celebrate. It's been a long time coming."

The band started up again and Nik helped me off the stage.

Stefan came up to us and walked with us in the crowd.

"Quite the homecoming." He said.

"I've been planning my father's funeral for over a thousand years, even while I was human. Granted in no version of it were any of these people invited, but you get the idea."

"So what now? You stop running?"

Nik chuckled before responding, "Now I reunite my family."

"Your family?" Stefan asked. "You mean the people you cart around in caskets."

"None of that matters anymore." I intervened, "Mikael is gone. Bygones will be bygones."

"It seems to me the homecoming queen still walks among the living, which leads me to believe Rebekah isn't here. Where is she?" Nik asked worried.

"No idea. I thought she was coming with Matt."

"Oh be honest now, Stefan. Where's my best friend?"

"I said, I have no idea." He retorted, "Now would you like me to take you to your father?"

"Well, it wouldn't be a party without the guest of honor, now would it? Bring him to me."

"All right," Stefan said scanning the crowd, "Perhaps there's something in it for me?" Asked directed towards me.

Nik and I have looks of confusion on our faces.

"My freedom from your compulsion."

"Oh, you want your freedom?" I asked. "Well once he's dead and his weapon destroyed, you'll have your freedom. It would be my pleasure to give it back to the man who destroyed the man I hate most."
