ONP 19: Prisoner's Paradise

Isola Costa de Aquarii is a solitary island here in Maldives. With its aquamarine shade of water, you can clearly see the corals and other marine creatures. The coastal place is perfect for relaxation and vacation ventures.

The motorboat stopped onto the shallow part of the beach. A man in his early thirties approached us and bowed his head.

"Buon pomeriggio il mio signore," (Good afternoon, my Lord.) the man greeted us nicely.

"Grazie, Vio!" (Thank you, Vio!) sagot ni Khyfer nang makababa siya sa motorboat.

Agad niyang inalalayang makababa ako kahit wala akong balak na kausapin siya. Even during the plane travel going here, I am silent and mad. Kaya pala siguro nagtanong siya kanina kay Yllaine kung pwede ba akong mag-travel.

"Sono contento che si deciso di avere una vacanza qui, Mio Signore." (I am glad that you decided to have a vacation here, My Lord.)

Khyfer nodded. "Of course! I owned this place anyway."

Natawa na lang si Vio at nalipat ang tingin sa akin. Ngumiti lang ako sa kanya bilang pagbati at binalik ang tingin sa magandang tanawin.

Naramdaman ko lang ang kamay ni Khyfer na humapit sa baywang ko kaya nagtaas ako ng kilay sa kanya.

"You're tired?" He asked.

I sighed in anger, "I am."

Kanina pa ako inaantok. Kung hindi lang kabastusan at kung sa akin lang ang lugar na ito ay baka nauna na akong nagmartsa papunta sa nakikinita kong beach house sa unahan.

"Okay, let's just wait for the housekeeper to get our luggage, and you'll have your time to rest." There's a hint of concern in his words.

Hindi na ako nagsalita at nag-iwas na lang ng tingin. Kanina pa masama ang loob ko dahil sa biglaang bakasyon 'kuno' namin. Before we off the plane going here, I had the chance to call my grandfather and tell him about the lies I had to say regarding this unexpected runaway. I also called Kelly and tell him I'll have my indefinite leave and Throne will be in charge of my company in the meantime. Nasabihan ko na rin ang pinsan ko tungkol dito pero hindi niya alam na kasama ko si Khyfer at dinala ako rito sa Maldives.

A couple of housekeepers came forward and greeted us before they collect our luggage. Khyfer let go of my waist and let his hand united with mine. I didn't resist, but I was shocked. It was too obvious as my heart rumble like a drumbeat.

"Tutti, voglio che incontri Blythe Dominique Montreal, mia moglie" (Everyone, I want you to meet Blythe Dominique Montreal, mia moglie,) anunsyo niya sa mga kasambahay.

Nagulat naman ako sa sinabi niya. Ako? Asawa niya? How come? Mas mabuti sigurong sabihin niya na ako ang bago niyang preso dito.

"Mia Signora. . ." Vio bowed his head. "Maligayang pagdating sa Isola Costa de Aquarii," he added.

"You know how to speak Filipino?" gulat kong tanong sa kanya. "Opo Ma'am, Pilipino po ang lahi ko," pormal na sagot nito sa akin.

I just nodded and scanned the other caretaker. They don't have foreign features, but I can see how well-mannered they are. Nilingon ko ang katabi ko nang hapitin niya ako.

"Vio, we'll have our dinner by six." He said to him.

Binalik ng katiwala ang atensyon sa amo. "Masusunod po, Sir. Ano po ang nais n'yong ipaluto sa personal na tagapagluto?" tanong nito.
