"Tch. Don't mention it. Just go away and do... whatever humans do, I guess." Asriel said in response to her thanks.

Frisk gave him a close eyed smile, which he found completely adorable.

Wait, no. What was going on with him?

He mentally shook his head at the thought that swept through his mind.

"I'll be going, Asriel. See you at supper!" She smiled and waved at him, before taking off, leaving Asriel dumbfounded.

She truly was beautiful, inside and out.

As she was running away from the tyrant, she couldn't help feeling.... calm. Even light hearted. She knew she shouldn't feel this way about him. After all, he was a monster. Literally. He has his hands drenched in inoccent blood.

And yet... why is it that when Frisk looks up to those cold, lifeless black eyes of his, she... feels something?

Almost like... something that was tempting her to see what laid behind those dark orbs, what kind of emotions stayed hidden in those ominous eyes that seemed to stare within the depths of oblivion, into her very soul.

(It's fucking 3AM in the morning. Don't judge my writing style at this ungodly hour. I s2g. I need soda. And LOTS of it.)

Something was clawing at the back of her mind. She knew she would be ae to crack his little shell at one point, but why so soon?

And most importantly...

Why did he have that strange look in his eye whenever he looked at her?

She couldn't help but feel insecure. She didn't know why. She shouldn't even be feelinng this way towards a TYRANT. A monster who has killed dozens of inoccent creatures. A monster who has kept the Underground prison, chained by the chains of torture. A monster who tore apart families, destroyed friendships, ruined lives, and even take lives.

She should not be feeling this way towards him.

She can't stress this hard enough.

But she was.

And she wasn't trying to stop herself. At the way he stared at her whenever she smiled, it was impossible for her not to notice.

Was the plan working...? Did she actually have a shot?

She didn't know.

She sighed and ran off into the kitchen, itching for her hands to find something to do.

She opened the door, and saw all the cooks rushing about. A feint smell of freshly cooked bread and soup lingered in the air. Servants were washing dishes, preparing food. It was quite the scene.

She stepped inside and smiled at them. "H-Hello."

As soon as these words exited her mouth, the workers stopped what they were doing and stared at her, their dull eyes scanning the petite 17 year old that just walked in.

Frisk gripped the back of her sleeve nervously. Oh god. Did she make a mistake? But nontheless, she still kept the kind smile on her face.

Suddenly, one of the cooks spoke up in a gruff voice. "What are you doing here, brat?" He scoffed. He was a bulky man, a seahorse perhaps? He had a chef's hat on and a bored look in his eye.

"Aaron! Don't be like that." A shy looking servant scolded, her hair covering the side of her face. She had beautiful aqua eyes, and her voice sounded melodic and sweet. She walked over towards Frisk and took her hands. "I'm Shyren. You must be The Risen Angel, Frisk, correct?" She asked.

Frisk fidgeted nervously. She still hasn't figured out that bit yet.

"U-Um, yeah, my name is Frisk. A-And sure, you can call me that, I guess." She stuttered and smiled.

"Wonderful! Aren't you the sweeest thing. Oh, we've been waiting for your arrival." Shyren says gleefully and took her hand. She led Frisk into the kitchen, where monsters resumed their cooking. She walked over to a counter and took out a knife. She started cutting vegetables that were on the table. "You ... well, we've heard about your legend before. And it's been a long time since we ever had this much hope."

She smiled and looked over towards Frisk, uncaring about the knife in her hand that was still chopping away a radish. It was almost like they had years of practice, and got used to everything here.

"Frisk... I know monsters yearn for you to kill him." She said with sorrow in her voice. "Monsters absoloutely despise him. Hell, even sometimes I find myself muttering profanities at him if he does something out of order." She gave a light hearted chuckle.

She pulled out something from the oven and started mixing the contents. But soon, finding Frisk had nothing to do, she gave it to her. Frisk gladly accepted, and stirred at the bowl.

"But Frisk, let me tell you this. A long time ago, before you came here, Asriel was not like this at all. He was far from it, actually. He would always have a smile, always laugh, always greet the other servants with joy and glee. He was the sweetest and kindest prince anybody asked for. And there was one person who helped him stay like that." She said, briefly stopping her dicing but continued.

"Sticking by his side always. Her name was Chara. She was a fallen human that was adopted by the King and Queen. She was a precious little thing, always so curious and excited. The entire Underground knew her, andwas very fond of her. Until one day... I haven't heard much from the Royal Family, but I overheard Chara and Asriel talking once. They said something about wanting to go see the surface." She said, sorrow and sadness stricking her voice as she spoke.

Frisk gaver her a sympathetic frown. It must be hard reliving everything since Asriel's tyranny, but she clearly saw that Shyren couldn't help but miss it.

"Something about crossing the barrier and collecting six human souls. I fled after that, feeling bad that I over heard this. But I should have done something. I knew what the two children were plotting. I had to say something. Anything. To prevent something foolish to happen. But I didn't. I was a coward. It was too late. News spread all over the kingdom that Chara had poisoned herself, for no particular reason at all. But I knew the reason all too well. I struggled to keep my mouth shut, as it would cause an uproar if I did." She sighed, placing the vegatables in a bowl. Frisk had stopped stirring, completely engrossed in her words. Shyren took the bowl from her hands and let it to cool on the counter.

"I think that their plan was, Chara would die and Asriel would absorb her soul. Then he would cross the barrier, kill six humans, then come back to break it. But Asriel had steered from the plan. He knew the heavy consequence to their little game, but he couldn't take it. He was too flooded in the thought of regret, guilt, and grief. He knew that they both made a huge mistake. He knew that this idea was stupid. He knew. But he didn't do anything. He simply picked up her body, and carried it to the surface. A few hours later he had returned, but he wasn't looking like himself. He had absorbed the human's soul, and he looked terrifying. I was a servant, so I merely had to watch in the sidelines before rushing back to my quarters. Then suddenly, news spread that the king had died." She said. Frisk gasped, bringing a palm to her mouth.

She couldn't believe that the Underground had actually suffered so much. That explains their sorrow and damaged souls right now.

Shyren sighed, but continued. This was the motto of the underground.

To just grit their teeth and continue moving forward.
