Allie's POV~

I rolled over and looked at my clock with a sigh. I couldn't sleep as it was, let alone by myself. Mike had taken Jaime off to a bar, and knowing those two and how late they used to go to bars, I wouldn't see him until tomorrow morning. It was only two in the morning. I had a lot of waiting to do. I'd get up and clean, but everything was already cleaned from two hours ago when I tried to make myself tired. Watching tv never helped, I had nothing interesting to do on my phone. I was bored out of my mind, and possibly going stir crazy, but I had a sleeping three year old that required I stay in the house. Responsibilities responsibilities.

I went downstairs and decided to mess around with cake recipes, we had a big fourth birthday coming up, tomorrow actually, so I might as well figure something out. Four years old in only a couple of days, I couldn't believe it. Where had the time gone?

**flashback four years**

"What are you going to be naming her, ms?" The nurse who was trying to fill out the birth certificate asked me. I looked down at the sweet little baby in my hairs, staring up at me with her big eyes. Eyes just like her daddy's, causing me to let out a sigh. This was such a mistake, he should be here. "Ms?" The nurse asked, pulling me from my train of thought.

"Oh, I'm sorry." I said with a head shake. "Dakota, Dakota Lee." I answered, looking back down at her. She was perfect. "And she doesn't have my last name." I said, remembering I had told them she did earlier. "It's Preciado. P-r-e-c-i-a-d-o." I said as the nurse typed it out. The least I could do was give her his name.

She left a few minutes later, leaving me on my own with the little bundle of cuteness. "Hi there baby." I said rubbing her head, she already had a full head of hair, surprise surprise. "I'm your mama." I said with a smile, and I swear she did too.

**end of flashback**

"Hey baby." I heard Jaime say as I felt his arms wrap around my waist. "Why are you baking at three in the morning?" He asked, sticking his finger in my cake batter and licking it, then trying to get more.

"Stop that. It's gross and bad for you." I said while smacking his hand away. "I couldn't sleep and I didn't think you'd be home so early and I had already cleaned everything so I decided to mess around with birthday cakes, since we have a birthday coming up." I said nodding, glaring as he ate more batter.

"Raw eggs haven't killed me yet." He said with a shrug. "Tastes good though." He added before going quietly up the stairs, coming back down a few minutes later in nothing but pajama pants. "Are you done yet, I'm bored." He said pulling at my hand.

I chuckled, "Well due to your lack of a shirt, I can be done." I said smirking. He gave a devious smile and pulled me upstairs. Things were starting to feel normal again, I just wish we had a baby waking us up every couple hours through the night.

"Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!" Kota yelled as she jumped up and down on our bed. "It's time for my party, it's time for my party!" Her party wasn't for another good three hours. Ah well, at least she was excited.

"Oh no, attack of the birthday girl." Jaime said grabbing her ankles, causing her to collapse in between the two of us. "Someone's looking forward to their big birthday bash, eh?" He asked, chuckling as she nodded enthusiastically. "Go pick out birthday clothes and I'll make birthday pancakes." He said pushing her till she got out of the bed. Birthday pancakes were a Jaime tradition. "How about mama?" He asked looking over at me.

"Mama's ready to have a fun day." I replied with a nod as he kissed me lightly. "Make me some pancakes too." I said with a smile, while pulling away and getting up to get dressed. I still had work to do so I just threw on some sweat pants and a tank top, party clothes would go on later.
