Allie's POV~
The sounds of Kota's morning cartoons were filling the house as I paced around the upstairs hallway dusting picture frames and collecting the dirty laundry that was often thrown into the hallway and forgotten about until that particular piece was needed. We weren't the cleanest family, but with a five year old that wasn't going to happen anyway, whether we were neat or not.
"We really need to get some new pictures made." I said to Jaime as he walked out of our bedroom, putting a beanie on over his messy hair and kissing my cheek before he walked towards the stairs. All the photos that were on our walls were either old photos of Jaime and I when we were younger, some pictures of Kota and I and Kota and Jaime that Kristy had printed out for Kota's birthday and I had stolen for the walls, baby picture's of Kota that had been up in my previous house, one of the three of us at Disney land, before Jaime and I had ever decided to get back together, and one of Carson that he had gotten made to surprise me one day. We only had a few pictures of Carson Al, but this one was the best. Tony had taken it and had Kristy work some of her photo magic, taking all of the wires and monitors out before we saw it- he looked like a normal healthy baby. That was the way we tried to remember him, the way he never actually was.
"Well we'll have wedding pictures in a couple of months." Jaime said with a smile as I nodded and smiled back, those would be my favorite pictures. "I'll see you in a few okay, try not to clean too much, the house is becoming unrecognizable." He said with a smirk as I rolled my eyes at him.
"Yeah yeah, see you later." I said with a laugh as he walked down the stairs to tell Kota bye and head to the clinic. He was meeting Jenna today to get the paternity test. She had wanted to wait until the baby was born, knowing that by doing that Jaime would feel obligated to be by her side during the delivery, just incase it was his baby. He had however convinced her to do it now, telling her he would be in the UK well before her due date and that there was no point in prolonging it because he would miss the delivery anyway. This was of course all a ploy to find out the truth sooner, there was no UK tour coming up. Casey had to go through the trouble of making a fake tour poster and everything though- just to prove it to her.
I went back to dusting, trying to keep my mind off of waiting for the news that was coming in less than an hour now and could change our lives forever. I stared at the picture of Carson after I ran the duster over the glass. Letting out a sigh I thought about how fucked up all of this was. Jaime and I were supposed to be playing with our son, not waiting to find out if he was the father to his ex's son, waiting to find out if I were to be a step mother in a couple of months.
Part of me felt guilty comparing Carson to Jenna's son, his possible brother, but the other half of me didn't care. Carson was Jaime and I's, he was perfect, he would have been a goof ball yet charming like his daddy, and a hot headed know it all like me. He reminded me of an angel the moment I laid eyes on him, just as Kota had. It amazed me how well Jaime and I had done not once but twice. And I knew that there was no way he and Jenna would do better. I'd love the baby of course, if he were Jaime's, because he would have Jaime's beauty, but he would also be tainted by Jenna.
I was snapped out of my thoughts by hearing Kota yell for me down stairs. "Mommy!" She yelled again before I could answer. "Mommy mommy mommy mommy mommy mommy!" The chorus rang through the house as I walked down the stairs.
"What what what what what what what?" I asked as I reached the couch where she was sitting. Her long hair was up in a messy bun and she had a Darth Vader robe tied around her waist, a gift from Tony of course.
"I want to do something fun, can we go somewhere?" She asked, jumping up on the couch and bouncing on her toes in front of me. "Pleeeeeeease?" She said, clasping her hands together as I laughed, she sure did know how to plead.
