Chapter 4:
It had been a week since Kat and Dani had been in their relationships. Kat was adorable with Alex, who I was also good friends with, who I always saw together. In my third and seventh period I routinely experienced Dani and Aaron walking into class hand in hand. Dani constantly looked over at Aaron, and he always smiled back. Ugh it was so gross. I mean I was happy for them, they were both my great friends. I mean Dani was my best friend, (besides Kat), and Aaron had been so nice to me from the start. Plus Cameron was cute, and Kat thought I might have a chance. "Happy. You are happy." I muttered to myself. "Um you okay Avery?" Aaron asked. I snapped back to reality. "Huh what? Oh no yeah I'm okay." I said back in a rush. "Okay just checking." he smiled. Checking? He was worried about me?! I smiled. I wish I could put my feelings for Aaron away Finally school was out and I piled into Cameron's car, along with Aaron, Kat, and Dani. "Avery, want shotgun?" Cameron asked. I glanced at Kat who was smiling and looked back. "Uh yeah sure!" I answered back. On the ride back, Cameron talked to me. I learned that he played soccer like me. He was actually really sweet. Later Kat, Dani, and I went into Kat's room. "We're going on a double date!" Kat said. Dani brightened. "Really?!" "Yup. Aaron agreed and I already asked Alex!" Kat said. "That's great! But what about Avery?" Dani asked. "I'm good guys, really!" I flushed. "Nope. You're coming. Find a date." Kat insisted. "Well-" I started. "It's okay if you go alone! We're just catching a movie and getting pizza after." "Okay fine I'll go." I agreed. Dani cheered. "I can't wait!" A double date plus me? How would that go?
