I sat there trying to stay afloat among my flood of tears. I couldn't stop thinking that my sister's disappearance was my fault. If I hadn't strayed away...I shouldn't have let my curiosity get the better of me. Maybe if I had stayed put with my friends, she'd still be her with me. Maybe my family wouldn't feel like a puzzle with a missing piece. We still get along and everything, but sometimes there's those awkward silences that no one but my sister would have been able to fill.

( Oh, Delysia...I miss you so much. Why was I so stupid as to wander off?! I wish you were here...but I'm not gonna lose hope. Even though I had no idea who...or what kidnapped you, I know you're still alive. That thing was strong. But you're strong too, I just need to keep an eye out and investigate this mystery. I will find you, I just know it.)

With that new resolve I was able to stop my sobs. I took a few deep breaths, stood up from the floor and walked out the stall door to the mirror. I inspected my reflection to see my eyes were pinkish-red, and I felt slight dampness on my cheeks.

( Well, I guess I don't look too bad. So glad I don't wear make-up. Mascara would be black streaks and smudges.)

I chucked at the thought of that. I splashed my face with water and dried my face. My eyes were only slightly pink now. ( Hmmm, guess I could live with that. Whew. K, so just go outside and go about like normal. Don't let anyone know you've been crying. Yeah, I'll be just fine.)

I looked at my watch and saw it was 8:15. ( Cool, I'll only have missed Mr. Green's bell work question on our vocab from chapter 30 on WWI. Not too nig a deal since I have a pass.)

I gave my refection a small smile then headed out the bathroom door.

I pushed the heavy door open and heard a loud Thud! And " Ooof!" ( Uhh, did I hit something.) I get out close the door to find papers and books covering the floor near the door and a guy on his back with a hand on his forehead. ( Oh,crap! Did I hit him with the door?!! Oops.)

" Oh my God! I am so sorry!!! Are you ok?" I said filled with shame as I knelt down to see if he was alright. Still on his back with his hand covering his face, he replied, " Yeah, I'm fine. Guess now I could apply for a job as a door stopper." he gave a slight chuckle.

Still guilty I said full of concern," Are you sure? I mean I could help you to the nurse's office if you wish."

" Nah, it's cool. I'm fine. I was the idiot, not looking where I was going with my stupid daydreams. Should've expected to run into a door. Hehehe." I noticed his voice had an accent. Russian? French? He sat up, but still had his hand covering his eyes.

" Well, alright. Don't say I never offered."

" It's ok, I won't. "

" Well, the least I could do is help you pick up this mess." I began to gather all the books and scraps of paper. He began to do the same thing.

" Why, that's rather kind of you." he said in an endearing voice. I blushed at his words, not knowing why I was. His accent was definitely Russian, and it made me want to melt.

" I-I suppose so. Well here you go." I handed them to him. He took them then set them gently aside. I haven't got a look at his face since I've kept my head down to prevent him from seeing me blush. I see a hand stretch out to me and with that delicious Russian accent he said, " Hello. I'm Ivan Marks. I'm a new student here at Moongrove High. And you are?"

I took his hand, looked up at him and said, " Annabelle Swanson. It's nice to meet you."

As I looked at him I realized I was sitting before some gorgeous god. He had honey-oak skin, dark chocolate hair with a small silver streak thru the middle of his fringe. He had jade green eyes with the smallest hint of gray at the edges of the pupils, they shone like shooting stars across a dismal gray sky. I felt my heart sputter at his astonishing appearance and the splendid warmth that radiated from his silk soft hand. His eyes was the thing that pulled me the most. Like I said they shined with charm, and recognition? (Yes, his eyes seemed strangely familiar. Where have I seen that color before?)

His voice broke my thoughts. " Annabelle. That's a beautiful name. Annabelle." his smile was radiant and sent my heart flying.

"I-I umm...thank you. Ivan is a wonderful name too." I said.

" I suppose. Well it was rather nice running into you Annabelle."

" Um, yeah sorry bout that." I apologized again. Even though he was saying something like a farewell, he didn't let go of my hand. I looked into his eyes again and began to remember where I'd seen him before. ( Wait, his eyes...they look like the ones from my dream. Like the eyes of that w-)

I sprang up suddenly, fear seeping through me as I remembered those eyes.

" Is something amiss?" he said confused, standing up as well.

" Umm, well, I-I just ....uhh" ( Come on! Spit out an excuse and let's get the hell of here!)

" I-I just gotta head to class. I'm extremely late! so I-I'll just be going now. Bye!" I said in this fake cheery voice. ( Smooth Annabelle, real smooth.)

I left Ivan with a perplexed look upon his face. I got into class. Mr. Green was bout to reprimand me for being late when I handed him my pass. I took my seat as he continued on with the lesson. I listened for awhile, but my mind went back to Ivan. How sorry and embarrassed I felt for hitting him. His amazingly good looks, and yummy Russian accent. How he made my heart do weird things, and they way my hand felt in his. However, the thing I kept thinking back to were his eyes, those jade green eyes that looked just like the ones of that wolf from my nightmare, instead this time instead of being apologetic and menacing, they were sincere and comforting.

I couldn't help but think how the two might be connected. The eyes were exactly the same color and everything. Also he had a silver streak in his hair, they same color as the wolf's fur.

( Wait, reality check Annabelle. There are no such things as werewolves, vampires or any other mythical creature. There is no connection between Ivan and the wolf of my dream. No way. It's just some weird coincidence. Creatures like that were nothing but myth and folklore. Right?)

I tried to reason this false conclusions, but I couldn't help but think it was true. Maybe werewolves and vampires did exist. Maybe Ivan's a werewolf. But I knew too little bout him to be sure. I knew one thing for sure though. If and only if these beings are real-a shudder passed thru me- then I knew what kidnapped my sister.

It was a vampire.
