I looked behind me and woke Bob up quickly.

Click click click.

That sound, I'll never forget that sound.

Click click click.

"What the hell is that?" Questioned Bob.

"Whatever it is it isn't local wildlife."

Click click click.

Click click click.

Bob and I spun around desperately trying to locate the sound.

Click click click.

Something dove past me and left a huge claw mark across my chest armor. I spun around trying to see where it went.

Click click click.

Click click click.

Click click click.

"Just go go go!" Yelled Bob in a frightened voice.

Complying I took off, Bob on my tail. Bob cried out and I turned my head back to him. I saw him being tackled by three hound looking things, except they where all metal, softly glowing red eyes, they where at least 5'2 in length.

"No!" I screamed and turned around and started firing at the hound things just as one sunk it's teeth into Bob's neck.

Click click click.

I bolted as fast as I could.

Please, please, please don't let them get me.

Click click click.

As I ran I could hear them around me, herding me into a death circle.

Click click click.

I could barely see their glowing red eyes, just enough to know I'm surrounded. Yet I kept running, and running. My lungs felt like they would burst, but I kept going all through the night. Always hearing their click click click. I'll never know why they didn't kill me that night.

As the sun rose I couldn't hear that definitive click click click of those hounds, which I think I'll call clickers, terrible name I know.

My breath labored I looked across the frozen tundra of Meladine.

I am so dead, and lost.
