Everyone sort of frowned at her explanation. I was worried about who I would be paired with. I was hoping either Violet or Liam, maybe even Garrett who was a sort of friend, he was Violet's boyfriend and I didn't know him too well.

"-And Adriana." I snapped back into focus as she continued to read out the partners names.. who the hell had I been paired with?!

"Hey." Liam greeted with a cheesy smile and I turned to him. "We're partners. How great - I get to stare at your face for as long as I want." I blushed slightly at his comment but snorted, hitting his shoulder jokingly at his words.

"Oh hush, Liam." I wrote my name on my previous paper and grabbed a new piece, beginning to shape out Liam's face. He currently had his paper in his lap and was leaning on his thigh and knee as we both looked up, holding a position, when the other called our names.

I had chosen a simple smile to pull but Liam had went for the raised-eyebrows, slight pout, 'I'm unhappy' look. I bit down onto my bottom lip as I studied his face for a few seconds before looking down at my paper, fixing his wonky jawline. "Don't look." I muttered as I pulled the paper further from his line of vision as he leaned forward, attempting to snatch a glance at my -currently going well- drawing of him.

God, this would have been so awkward if it was anyone else other than Liam or Violet.

Liam sighed slightly before sitting straight again. "Adriana," I glanced up, smiling as I moved my hand into a fist, holding my chin up with it, repeating the pose that had been dug into my head. I'll probably being that damn pose every time someone calls my name for the next week!

About an hour later (double period) the teacher called time and asked if anyone was almost done. I raised my hand along with a few other people before she walked over to Liam and I, taking my drawing from me to inspect it.

"This is fantastic yet again, Adriana! Have you thought about taking up a career in art?" I shook me head slightly, knowing I had my eyes set on becoming a doctor. "Well if you ever change your mind I'm sure it will do well." She smiled slightly at me before walking to someone else who held up their hand.

"Seriously?" I heard Liam mutter with an annoyed tone and I looked to him, a slight frown taking over my face at his tone. "Why are you so good at art? It's infuriating." I smiled at Liam's weird way of complimenting me before he turned his paper so I could see his drawing.

Liam's drawing was still very good but it looked as if he was only half-finished. "Liam, what are you on about? Yours is really good! That'll look amazing when you finish it." I couldn't help but lt my smile grow as I noticed a small blush appear on his cheeks at my compliment.

"Thanks." He spoke simply but it still made me smile. "Are you coming to practice tonight?" He asked as he slipped his drawing into his folder again and I copied his actions after writing my name on it.

"Mm, I don't think so. I'm going out with Brett later and then I've gotta hang with my dad for a bit. He doesn't really know anyone here yet and I guess he's feeling lonely." I shrugged with a sad smile as Liam nodded, running a hand through his hair.

I did feel bad for my dad. He was definitely hit way harder than I was with my mom's death and I was hit pretty hard. My mom was my dad's first and only love. I couldn't image the sort of pain he was going through right now and I don't blame him if he doesn't exactly feel like making new friends.

"I'm sorry to hear that. You and your dad could chill at my place one day? My step-dad is a doctor so he could teach you about all the medical stuff if you want?" I smiled at Liam's request and nodded, stepping forward and pulling the older boy into a hug.

He froze for a second before wrapping his arms softly around my shoulders, giving me a tight squeeze before releasing me from his soft grip. "I'm still here for you." I muttered quietly, secretly hoping that he didn't hear me.

"I know you are. I'm here for you too," He smiled brightly to me and I couldn't help but smile back. "Catch you later?" He raised his eyebrows in question as the bell rang and everyone else began to pack away their things.

"Catch you later."
