I took a deep breath bago ako umakyat sa stage and another deep breath bago ako tumayo sa podium. I'm a bit shaky, hindi naman dahil sa hindi ako sanay magsalita sa harap ng tao, it's just that Lance is here, my parents, his parents and everyone else's parents. I know I have prepared well for this night, pero hindi ko maiwasan ang anxiety attack. Iginala ko ang tingin sa buong audience. Una kong nakita si Alice, she mouthed, "Aja!". Then Thunder, Mir and G.O., who are also smiling widely.

This is it. Patatagalin ko pa ba 'to?

"Good evening, headmaster, faculty members, batchmates, parents and guests." Paunang salita ko. Seriously, pakiramdam ko, any minute ay lalambot ang tuhod ko. I took yet another glance over the crowd. I saw Kuya Alex, giving me an encouraging smile.

So I continued.

"Exactly four years ago, I stepped into this institution not knowing what lies ahead. I'm just your typical highschool girl with big dreams. I was a no one, just a person in a sea of people. Who could have ever forget the excitement of the first day in highschool? Who could have ever forget the overwhelming feeling of being exposed to a lot of people? And who could have ever forget your very first wish in highschool? That is, to get yourself a hot boyfriend." Natawang dagdag ko.

Ang salitang yun, ay ikinatawa din ng audience. With that, it kinda helped me ease my nervousness.

"Kidding aside, our whole journey throughout our highschool life has been a very worthwhile experience. Algebra, Biology, Chemistry, Trigonometry, Physics, Calcus. These awful set of words were our companion for the previous years, these subjects did not only teach us academic lessons but life lessons as well. Also, without the most awesome teachers, these subjects would really be all terrible so please let me thank all of the faculty members who are always there, willing to teach us new knowledge, kahit na minsan alam ko na gusto na din nila kaming umalis na." Tumawa ulit ako. Naalala ko kasi yung nagalit si Sir Campos dati sa batch namin. Hahaha!

Napatawa ulit ang audience, pati na sila headmaster at mga faculty members.

"Highschool is our training ground before the actual battle and once we step outside of this ground, we are all alone to face the battles of reality. We all have different plans, we all have different places to go but I want all of us to forever treasure this institution, this place we consider our second home. Once again, let me thank everyone who is part of the SDH family, for witnessing us become better persons, for guiding us as we find ourselves, for leading us to the right path of life and for celebrating with us during the most memorable events, I thank you all in behalf of my batchmates. Truly, this institution cradled us and became our second home. Congratulations, batchmates, to our parents who supported us every step of the way. We love you! Good evening!" I ended my speech with another thank you and went down the stage.
