Sonnet 33: The Poet
(Inspiration 22)

Methinks thou art divine Apollo dressed
In human form, a well from which I draw
These noble passions beating in my breast
To pen these lines as proofs that I'm in awe;
Methinks thou art a river flowing from
A vast divining knowledge that transcends
The length and breadth of human reason's sum,
As reason far transcends the senses' ends.
But more than this, my love, thou art to me,
Far more than any one conceit implies:
When in sweet silent thoughts of awesome thee,
Thou mak'st me more a man within mine eyes
       To know that I have spent a life in hell,
       A life well-spent when spent with thee so well.

(To be continued...)

A/N: Here's a little sonnet to start off 2012... ( ^_^ ) Hope you enjoyed it...
