Sonnet 24: The Poet
(Inspiration 13)

At times I think you turn this world anew,
For where you sit, the flowers start to bloom,
And where you walk, the world stands still for you,
As if to stand in awe and give you room
To strut your all upon so grand a stage,
A player playing with the aid of skill
The role that love has given you-a page
Within love's drama turning to your will.
At your behest, you make each page abound
With joy to see you at your golden prime
And pain to see your growing crimes compound,
A hero to my verses for all time.
More honored I to play my humble part
In loving you, to whom I gave my heart.
