[24] Late Night Converations

Start from the beginning

"Is it cold?" I asked while sitting at the edge of the pool.

"Nah. I peed already." Shawn grinned widely.

I scrunched my face up in disgust while Aaliyah drifted away from him.

"I'm kidding. The pool has a heater. It's pretty warm." He said.

"Yeah. It's the perfect temperature in here." Aaliyah agreed.

"Okay. I'm gonna go in too."

I stepped back a little and threw my shirt off.

When Hailee took her shirt off, I saw all the curves and shape in her body and her perfect tanned skin, and beautiful brown hair blowing slightly in the wind. I immediately felt myself tense up.  I tried to hide it as best as I could especially in these board shorts.

"Shawn you okay?" Aaliyah asked.

"Yeah. Yeah. I'm okay." I replied distractedly.

I tried to think of the most disgusting thing I could muster to help with my situation, but it wasn't working. Not while Hailee was standing there in front of me, looking absolutely gorgeous.

Finally, Hailee went into the pool. I tried to think about the disgusting thoughts again, and this time it worked.

That was a close one I thought to myself.

Hailee swam over to me and Aaliyah.

"Glad that you've decided to join us." I smirked.

She rolled her eyes and splashed me with water.

"You're gonna regret that you did that." I spoke.

"Oh really?" She retorted.

We had a full on water war for about thirty minutes. Of course Aaliyah was on her team; talk about betrayal. She left about halfway through it though. She went inside with the adults to eat some food.

Eventually, Hailee got tired of being splashed and she got out of the pool and tried to run away.

"Hey no running around the pool!" I hollered.

"You can't tell me what to do!" She yelled back.

At that, I got out of the pool as well and took her in my arms.

"I'm not gonna let you off that easy." I whispered in her ear.

I felt her body tense up and I smirked. That's the reaction I wanted.

I threw her on my shoulders and she hit my back repeatedly.

"Put me down!" She yelled.

"Okay. If you say so." I smirked and threw her into the pool.

She looked so funny yet attractive. I couldn't help but smile.

After several seconds, she still hasn't gotten out of the water. I panicked and jumped in as well.

"Hailee? Are you okay? Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry."

All of a sudden, she faced me and laughed continuously.

"I- GOT-  YA!" She said between laughs.

I couldn't help but chuckle myself.

"Okay. That was good. You got me good." I admitted.

We stayed swimming for a few more minutes before we dried off and went inside with everyone as well. I threw a shirt on before sitting with everyone else and Hailee did too. We had our towels underneath us, to prevent making a wet mess inside our house.

After eating, Maddie and Hailee were getting ready to go home. They both said their goodbyes and gave us all hugs.

Once they had left, I immediately went into my room to take a shower to get the smell of chlorine out of my system. Then I threw on some sweatpants and jumped into bed. I tried to fall asleep, but I couldn't.

The thought of Hailee popped back into my head and it wouldn't go away. I liked her so much it actually hurt. The thought of us being together made my heart burst.

I already did everything I could without thinking of her. I had just tweeted about it too.

"Can't sleep. 😕" I wrote.

All of a sudden, a text came in coming from Hailee.

Hailee Cantbell: I can't sleep too 😔

Shawn MendeZ: yeah. Idek why.

We texted until 5:30 in the morning. That's when we both decided we were exhausted and were ready to sleep.

That was probably the best sleep I've had in years.
