After dinner, Shawn and his family left, leaving our home empty. I helped aunt Maddie clean up the table, wash the dishes, then I went to bed. My first day of school is tomorrow, I don't want to be late.

I checked the time 10:21. It read.

Just as I was about to fall asleep, my phone dinged, indicating that I had a text.

Muffin Man: Hey! You ready for school tomorrow?

HAILS 😄: Yeah. I'm a bit nervous, though.

Muffin Man: Don't worry. I'll be right there with you.

HAILS 😄: You're too nice, Shawn.

Muffin Man: I know I am.

With that, I smiled, and locked my phone.

All of a sudden, my phone rang. It was an unknown number. Usually, I would never answer an unknown number. But this person just kept on calling non- stop.

When I picked my phone up, I was dumbfounded. I heard his voice. The voice that I once considered loving. The voice that almost broke me completely.

The person that called me was Harry, again.

He spoke in my ear, but I completely failed to process what was going on.

"Hailee. Are you there?"

I don't respond.

"Please give me one more chance."

Silence.

"Someone told me you've moved to Canada."

Still no reply.

"Hailee. Please answer me. I want you back."

I'm tired of this. I'm tired of his bullshit. But I still don't say anything.

"I'm so sorry for what I did. Please forgive me. She didn't mean anything. I swear. Please baby. I love you. Please come back to me. I love you. Just give me one more chance. I won't stop until I get you back. I need you in my life. You were my everything. You still are. " The moment he uttered those words, I gave up on holding myself back.

"Don't you fucking dare ask me for another chance. If she didn't actually mean anything to you, then why would you leave me like that? Leave me without even an explanation? Don't bullshit me. I've given you so many damn chances, and you messed them all up. Don't say I'm your everything either. Cause if I really was, you never would've left me. Just stop trying. You'll never get me back. I'm so done with you. " I almost yelled into my phone.

I angrily hung up right after.

Suddenly, I heard my bedroom window open. I immediately knew who was behind that noise.

As I had expected, Shawn appeared in my room, sleep wiped across his whole figure.

"Hailee. Are you okay? Don't cry. It's okay." He told me.

I didn't even realize I was crying.

He walked cautiously towards me, engulfing me in a hug. Once I settled into his hug, I couldn't handle it anymore. I just broke down. I cried into his shirt, completely soaking a patch of it.

My whole body began shaking. I could barely even breathe. I felt like my lungs had collapsed. He did not say anything. He just rubbed comforting circles on my back, and kept a firm grip around my fragile body.

He didn't say anything other than the comforting words he whispered into my hair.

He hugged me. He hugged me until I stopped crying. He hugged me even when I stopped crying. He held me when I felt most vulnerable.

He didn't even ask about what happened. He didn't judge me from what he heard. He didn't pity me for what happened. He didn't even tell my Aunt. He simply sat there and told me that everything was going to be alright. And I believed him. I believed him when he said I was going to be okay. I believed him when he told me that he would be there for me always.

I believed that he truly cared about me.
