[24] Late Night Converations

Once the noise died out, everyone went back to what they were previously doing, except me and Shawn. We just sat down at a table and laughed our heads off.

The party ended not long after. It was getting pretty late. It was 11 by the time the Mendeses left our house. Maddie and I were too tired to clean, so we decided to just clean up tomorrow. Shawn's family offered to help as well, and we gladly accepted.

I changed into my pjs, washed my face, and brushed my teeth before falling into a deep slumber.

"Hailee. Wake up. The Mendeses are here already." I heard Maddie speak from the other side of the door.

I groaned and rolled over. "Okay. I'm coming. Hold on."

I checked my phone to check what time it was. It was 12pm. Jeez. I guess I was more exhausted than I thought.

I went to the bathroom to clean up. I stayed wearing my Harry Potter pajama shirt but threw on some sweatpants and a hoodie. Then I put my hair up in a messy bun.

I hopped down the stairs and into the kitchen. They were eating some ribs that I assume Maddie made. I slid into the seat next to Aaliyah.

"Hey guys. Sorry I was asleep." I apologized.

"It's alright, darling. No worries. We just got here." Karen smiled.

Shawn and Aaliyah said good morning as well. I gave them a smile and good morning then began eating as well.

We rested for a little while after eating
before we began cleaning up the mess we had made just a couple hours prior.

A few hours, and two trash bags worth of garbage later, we were finished cleaning. The party supplies that Manny rented have been returned, the stereo system was back inside, and all the remaining food went stale, so we threw it out. (There was only a little bit left anyway.)

We all just wanted to relax after, and Aaliyah was the first to offer going swimming in their backyard. Today was a bit warmer than yesterday so we were all game with the idea.

They went ahead to their house first to get changed and Maddie and I went to get into our swim wear as well.

I took my favorite pair out: a green matching strapless top and high waisted bottoms set with pink tropical flowers on them. (Pic above)

Then I threw on a random long shirt I had, grabbed my flip flops, phone, and a towel. I didn't bring a lot since we were just going to be next door.

Then I waited for aunt Maddie to be finished and we walked together to the house next door. I could already hear Aaliyah squealing along with the sound of splashing water. Shawn splashing water at her; I concluded.

I knocked on the door, and Manny opened it within seconds.

"Come on in guys, they're already back there." He spoke.

I nodded and we all made our way to the back.

"Hey!" I said when I got there.

They said hi as well. I set my stuff on the table.

Karen was sitting in a lawn chair, basking in the sun, while Shawn and Aaliyah were hanging out in the pool.
