Chapter 1:
CAMILA
"Okay, mum. Yes, I'll be home soon." I heard Ally say as I walked back into my room, returning from the restroom. "Goodbye. I love you, too." She hung up the phone and turned to me. "My mum wants me home soon, unless you want me to stay with you tonight? When are your parents suppose to be back?" She asked. My parents were gone for a business trip, since they own their own company, and they weren't going to be back tonight.
"I have no idea." I breathed out, and I sat on my bed as she sat next to me. "You don't have to stay though." I told her. I noticed that she scooted closer to me, and she put her hand on my knee. "What if I want to?" She asked me.
I turned to her, and she looked at me with longing and desperation. I always knew Ally had a crush on me, ever since we first became friends, but I felt nothing for her like that. She was my best friend and that's all she'll ever be. Without warning, she leaned into me, and she began to kiss me.
I closed my eyes tightly, and I mentally sighed. I gently pushed on Ally's chest until she pulled away. It hurt me everytime I had to reject her, but I just didn't feel the same way she did about me. "I'm sorry, Ally." I said as I saw the sadness in her eyes. She looked like she wanted to cry, and that made me want to cry, too. I did care about Ally deeply, but only in a friendly way.
"Please, Mila. I- I love you so much." She whimpered as she looked down at her hands, and I noticed a tear slip down her cheek. "Ally, I just don't feel the same way. You deserve to be happy. You need to move on to someone else." I said as I gently put a hand on her shoulder. She shook her head and looked up at me with determined eyes.
"Just once. Can you please kiss me back just once?" She asked. I opened my mouth to reject that idea, but she quickly added "Just once and I swear I will never try to kiss you again." She looked so torn down and broken, and I just couldn't say no to her.
I scooted closer to her and leaned in until our noses were touching. I heard her breath hitch, and she looked shocked that I was agreeing to this. Then, in one swift motion, she leaned in and pressed her lips to mine. This was the first time I've ever kissed her back because of the promise she made to not try again after this.
It wasn't that Ally was a bad kisser, because she was actually really good at it, it was only the fact that I didn't like her as more than my best friend that made everything awkward and uncomfortable. I was going to pull away, but Ally pressed her hand to the back of my head and held me close as our lips worked against one another.
She moaned into my mouth at all the pleasure and contentment she was receiving, and I wanted to just pull away, but her hands wouldn't let me. She pushed me backwards until I was lying down on the bed, and she straddled me as she continued to kiss me. Now I wasn't kissing back and Ally seemed to notice as she desperately worked her lips on mine to try and get a response out of me. "Camila, please." She whispered and pressed our lips together again.
I slowly began to kiss her back, just hoping she would stop after this, and she sighed at that. Her tongue licked across my bottom lip, and I gently pushed Ally back. "Ally, stop." I whispered and she looked down at me with a hurt look in her eyes.
She crawled off of me and began to ramble."I'm sorry, Mila. I'm so sorry. Please don't hate me." I sat up and shook my head, as I pulled her into a hug. "I don't hate you, Ally. You're my best friend." I said.
"I love you." She whispered, and I squeezed my eyes shut at that, knowing she meant it in a lover's sort of way.
"Yeah, I love you, too, Al." I said, but we both knew I meant sisterly love, and I knew that's what killed Ally inside. "I should go now." She broke out of my hug and picked up her jacket she left on my desk chair. I walked with her through the hall, down the stairs, and to the front door. "Goodnight, Ally." I said as she stepped outside.
