Pain, Pain, Go Away

Chapter 5

Chiron stomped his hoof on the marble flooring.

"Attention please! As everyone knows, it is Friday. That means we play Capture the Flag today! Red team still holds the banner from last week! Red team this week is lead by Ares! They have paired with Hephestus, Aphrodite, Hectate, Demeter, Nemisis and Athena! Blue team is lead by Apollo! They have teamed with Hermes, Hades, Dionysus, and all the others minor God cabins! I will serve as battle field medic! No maiming or killing is allowed! If that happens, the attacker with have kitchen duty for six months! Prisoners may be disarmed but not bound and gagged! That is all! Go get suited up!" Chiron announced. Everyone nodded. At the same time. It was creepy. Anyways, the twins led us down to the armor table and we all got suited up. I wore only a brestplate. I need to be able to run, as Travis and Connor told me. We all ran into he forest and gathered in a circle. As leader of the Apollo cabin, Will have out assignments.

"Dionysus cabin will attack left flank! Apollo cabin will guard! Hermes kids, set traps! Unclaimed, right flank! Minor gods will attack right up the middle! I will send out two groups of two and one group of one to search for the flag! Nico, you're on your own! Jack and Austin, your the first group! And Ana and Sarah! You're the last group! Be ready for anything!" Will exclaimed. We all nodded and got into our positions. We heard the horn signal the start of the game. Then we took off. I didn't know where to go, so i let Ana lead me until we arrived at a clearing. It looked destroyed. Everything looked dead or like rubble except for the pile of rocks in the middle. On top of the boulders was the red flag. But Ares guards surrounded the bottem.

"I distract, you get the flag and run," I told her. She nodded. I ran our of the clearing.

"Ares is so dumb!" I yelled. They all turned to me.

"What was that?" a girl called over to me angerliy.

"You heard me! Ares is a dumb, mean, jerk who only cares about himself!" They all growled. Then started running towards me. ALL of them. I ran into the woods. I saw Ana go after the flag out of thr corner of my eye. I ran and ran through the forest, just barely staying ahead. Suddenly a horn responded through the wood.

"Hermes wins it for the blue team!" I heard Chiron announce. I cheered and ran to the others. The Ares kids still threw glares at me. Ana was holding the Flag and crowd surfing. I noticed the Flag didn't have the boat on it anymore, but the staff with snakes wrapped around it. Suddenly a light appeared over Ana's head. Everyone dropped her in surprise. I made my way to the front so I could see her. The same staff was shining above her head. Everyone knelt, so I hastily followed.

"All hail Ana Lerana, daughter of Hermes!" Chiron announced. I drew my eyes brows together. What is happening? Ana is smiling like a maniac. Then everyone got up and congragulated her. When everyone finally disbanded, I made my way to her.

"What just happened?" I asked.

"I got claimed!" she exclaimed.

"Claimed?"

"It means my godly parent says that I am his/hers. You should be claimed soon," she says. I nodded. Cool. We headed back to the cabin and got ready for bed. The girls had put a separation wall between us and the boys. The lights turned off and I smiled ever so slightly. I snuggled into my blanket. Maybe my luck had turned around. Maybe i can finally have a nice, safe, good life. No problems no worries. Friends. That's what I thought my life was gonna be like now. Good. Great. Fun. But I didn't know that old and new enemies were rising, bent on destroying camp. Bent on destroying the world.
