╰☆☆ Babe, we share a room ☆☆╮

My jaw quite literally dropped to the ground. I heard Mr Spellbinder correctly, right? It wasn't my mind playing tricks? I lack some memories, but I'm confident my hearing is fine.

"I'm sorry, Sir?" That was all I could honestly say.

Mr Spellbinder walked to a small bookshelf and began searching the shelves. "I said, I believe you," he told me, continuing his search.

I stood awkwardly behind him. This was the first time anyone actually believed my words. I understood why Steve didn't trust me. After all, I don't exactly recall what happened. No matter how hard I tried to remember, I came up with blanks.

"Ah, here it is," turning around, Mr Spellbinder held a book in his hands; it was black and had a red skull on the cover. "This book contains a spell that should unlock those missing memories you have."

"Is it safe?"

Placing the book on a wooden table, he frowned. "No, the opposite, actually. But not to worry, I've performed this spell multiple times, and it's only one out of five people who explode." He eyed me, waiting for a response.

"It's fine," I finally told him with a grin. "Exploding sounds fun."

He raised a brow at me. "Your definition of fun is very different than mine, Miss Bloodvial."

"And what would your definition of fun be, sir? Watching a romantic movie with one of your lady friends?"

"On the contrary, I have never seen a romantic movie, nor do I plan on watching one soon. Time is a precious thing and shouldn't be wasted indulging in such human customs."

I scratched my forehead. Time is precious? Why would a wizard of his standards think such a thing? If rumours are true, he's lived more lifetimes than anyone, vampires included.

Clearing my throat, I glanced at the old-looking book on the table. "What does this spell need to be cast?"

Now, whilst yes, I am a half-witch, I don't know much about witchcraft. All I know is that to cast a power spell such as this one, the caster must offer something in return.

Magic always has a price.

The greater the spell, the greater the price. Which makes me wonder what Steve paid by cursing me. Was his dick shrunk? Did he lose a testicle or both? What the fuck, Elysia? Why are you thinking of the size of his sexual organs? My inner voice asked, to which I agreed. Something is wrong with me.

"Miss Bloodvial? Is something the matter?" Someone clicked their fingers in my face, causing me to blink. Oh, right, Mr Spellbinder is here. "You spaced out on me."

"I'm sorry, did you say something?"

"Yes, I said that for this spell to be successful, I require a person present during the missing memories. In your case, someone who witnessed the killing."

Oh no, please don't tell me...As if on cue, the doors swung open and in walked Steve with his hands in his pockets. His hazel eyes automatically landed on me.

Don't look at him! I told myself. Do you know what I did? I looked directly into his eyes.

Darn it!

For a moment, I got lost and almost drowned in a sea of orange and brown swirly waves. A wild storm seemed to be building behind those captivating orbs, and—Hang on, what did I just say?

Him. Captivating?

Ha! Yeah, right.

"Why are you staring at me in that way?" Steve suddenly spoke, pulling me from my thoughts.

"I... Ugh... Nothing," quick! Change the subject. "What is he doing here?" I asked, turning to Mr Spellbinder, who seemed to be amused. "What?"

"You two are something else," he said, glancing between Steve and myself. "The sexual tension in here is suffocating me."

I almost choked on nothing. "Excuse me?"

"Sexual tension?" Steve laughed, waving his hand in dismissal. "If by that you mean my urge to kill this bitch, then sure, we can call it sexual tension." His eyes lingered on me longer than I felt comfortable before shifting to Mr Spellbinder. "Why am I here?"

"To find out who murdered your parents."

Again, Steve laughed. "I already know who did! And she's standing right there!" He pointed at me. "Don't tell me you believe her? I saw her kill them! She sunk her disgusting fangs into their necks!"

"But did you?" Mr Spellbinder's attention was on the old book. "Eyes are a funny thing," he said. "They can be exploited, forced to see anything. Magic, on the other hand, can reveal the truth hidden behind the clouds."

Steve folded his arms across his chest, and in disbelief, he stared at me. "She's a monster!"

I couldn't argue with that statement.

"Your point?" I said sweetly. "Babe, I'm a vampire, witch hybrid; how many times must I tell you? Of course, I'm a monster."

"Now is not the time for this," Mr Spellbinder suddenly closed the book, loudly, I might add. "Mr Charmstar, I require you to allow Miss Bloodvial to drink from you and then spit the blood into this goblet." With a click of his fingers, a sizeable old-style goblet appeared on the table.

I glanced at the goblet. It was made of stainless steel with a gold rim and black vines stretching across the sides. Then something occurred to me. "You want me to drink from Steve?"

"No fucking way!" Yeah, what Steve said. "I won't allow her anywhere near me!"

"Babe, we share a room," I told him. "Pretty sure—"

Taking a few steps forward, he stood directly in front of me. For some reason, I found myself stepping backwards, but my back came to rest against a bookshelf.

Whoever put this shelf here will pay!

"Never, ever, call me babe again," Steve said threateningly. However, I found it somewhat sexy. Until he placed arms on either side of my body. Trapping me between him and the bookshelf.

Shitshitshitshit!

"You know," I murmured into his left ear. "I would almost say it's hot to see you angry. I quite enjoy this position, don't you?"

"Goodness, so much sexual tension," Mr Spellbinder suddenly spoke from behind us. "Should I leave the room?"

"No!" Steve and I yelled in sync.

"Very good; in that case, Miss Bloodvial, please proceed to suck him off...Erm, I mean, suck his blood."
