Chapter 14

Jake's POV

Simula ng mawala si Shynella, I never cared about other people's feelings. I never even cared about mine. Never.

But when I met Yesha, my perspective changed. I constantly wanted to know how does she really feel everytime I reject her love for me. Nasasaktan kaya siya ? Nacha-challenge o nagbabalak ng mag give up ? But honestly, for now, I still wanted to keep her company.

Lahat ng cupcakes and notes na nilalagay niya sa locker ko, sobrang gusto kong tanggapin 'yon. Pero may something sa isip ko na nagsasabing hindi pwede, siguro dahil nga hanggang ngayon si Shynella pa rin. Siya pa rin ang laman ng puso ko.

"Beh, natapos ko na ang poem. Ikaw na ang maglagay ng tono okay ? May gagawin pa ako eh. Bye." then she suddenly disappeared.

Hindi ko alam kung saang planeta niya nakuha ang guts at lakas ng loob na meron siya everytime hinaharap niya ako. I wondered, did she even felt discouragement ? After all the rejections that I have done, kaya pa ba niya ?

Pero naiisip ko rin, pag nawala siya ano na kayang mangyayari sa akin ? Magiging masaya, malungkot o confused ? Hindi ko alam, sa ngayon nage-enjoy ako sa company niya. All my doubts and worries temporarily vanished everytime I'm with her. And it feels magical.

I opened the notebook she gave me.

The Chase ~

But when you saw me you froze and stopped,
Ran away coz you're afraid of me.

Like me who acts like your shadow,
I'm inevitably unescapable.
Will always be there even through sorrow,
And chase you coz I'm unstoppable.

I stared at the notebook for minutes. She's ignorant but I know not innocent. She's honest with all her actions, but I still don't know her heart yet.

Hindi ko alam kung ano ang totoong nararamdaman ko sa kanya sa puntong 'to. Kasama ko lang siya kahapon pero parang gusto ko pang samantalahin ang pagkakataon. I don't want to be expressive to her yet, because I'm not even concise about my own feelings.

"Ah eh ..... Ja-jake ?"

Nilingon ko ang nagsalita, diba siya 'yong ? Ah, oo. Kaibigan ni Yesha, na parang kapangalan ni Shynella.

"Bakit ?"

"Uhmm-hmm ... Pinapapunta ka sa Dean's Office." sabi niya at kumaripas ng takbo.

Ano naman kayang klase ng topak meron 'yon ? Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. Nahawaan yata sila masyado ni Yesha.

Tumayo na ako at naglakad papuntang Dean's Office pero bigla akong binangga ng isang babae.

"Ma-marguex ?" gulat na tanong ko. Iba ang aura niya ngayon, medyo fierce. Ah hindi medyo, fierce talaga.

Tiningnan lang niya ako at bumaba ang tingin sa polo na suot ko. May mantsa kaya ? Napatingin ako sa suot ko at nakitang may sticky note na nakalagay dun. Tinanggal ko 'yon at pagtingala ko wala na si Marguex.

"Be careful with the signs." mahina at mabagal na pagkasabi ko. What does this means ?

Nagpalingon-lingon ako pero hindi ko na makita si Marguex. Bigla tuloy akong na confuse sa sulat na 'to.
