Chapter Twenty-Five : The End of the Dice

Start from the beginning

The bells from the starbuck's entrance jingled and the clacking of heels followed. My eyes were drawn to the beauty who had just walked in.

Sorry I meant bitch.

Her mocha hair was curled to perfection and light make-up was splashed onto her face. Rogan turned around, his expression blank. Belle turned towards us. A small smile spread across her ruby red lips. Lean legs stepped infront of each other carefully, the clacking of her heels following.

" Rogan, I forgive you for last night, I got your text just right now." A wave of exhaustion suddenly swept over her face. " I'm sorry for acting the way I did."

Completly confusion overtook Rogan's expressiontion but were cooly swept away. He nodded.

Belle smiled at me softly, as if some sort of pity was hidden within the curves of her lips. Rogan stood up abruptly pushing in his chair.

" I have an appointment to get too, I'll see you later?" He spoke gruffly, Belle at his side, though Rogan didn't take notice.

" Maybe," I nodded looking back at my papers.

Rogan stalked off, Belle trailing behind him.

It's be another week before I bumped into Rogan.

I sighed happily and stretched out packing my suitcase full of clothes and what I'd need for the next two weeks. May had already left a day earlier.  I sat down on the black fabric and zippered it shut. Taking my keys I locked the door to the dorm shut and sauntered down the hallway, dragging the suit case with me. A wheel was broken so it leaned to the side.

Only my suitcase of course.

Holiday break had came and I couldn't wait to see my family again. Exams were over, they'd been nerve rackign but they were actually over. For now. I dragged the suitcase down a flight of stairs, the wheels sometimes nipping at the back of my heels painfully. Outside the snow tumbled softly to the ground like ballerinas on a stage.

Students bustled around, luggage creating a bumper car scenario around the exits and hallways. I smiled to those I knew from classes, and to though I didn't know for good measure.

Good measure never hurt anyone.

My phone vibrated repeated in the pocket of my demins. With a sigh I unhanded my luggage and pulled the buzzing out. Smiling I pressed a the reply and forward buttons. All the littles nerds would be tracking it back home to visit their families. Each one had sent me a Merry Christmas text all at once. I smiled softly.

< Merry Christmas nerdy boys! I'll be back to roll dice after the break!>

Hitting send, I shoved the phone back into my pocket. The only who hadn't sent me one was Rogan. It'd been a week and half since we had last talked. Ricky on the other hand was as sociable as ever. In religions class we'd talk and exchange hello's. Even though he had scarcely mentioned it I knew he too was waiting for an answer.

Stepping out into the blizzard of soft snowflakes and a bitter wind I hugged one arm around my body with my bag and pulled the suitcase out onto the walkway. Snow that had been pilling ontop of each other crunched softly under my boots. I shook my head as I thought I had heard my name being called, damn winter winds make me paranoid.

"Yuri! Cora! Nerd! Respond to me!"

I turned around hastily, my eyes searchign the crowd.

" Right besides you hobbit."

Turning I glared icyly at the man besides me. His hands were shoved behind his back, a plaid scarf tucked unevenly from his peacoat and goofy woolen beanie clung to his mocha curls. I rolled my eyes dramaticly and he swiftly took off his glasses wiping away the water that had melted from the snowflakes and placed it behind his back.

" Yes Rogan?" I coughed, looking around for a May, who was no where in sight. He rolled his grey eyes dramatically.

" Well before you stocked off I decided a movie cliché would be a fantastic idea to send you off into the holidays," He scruched up his nose and continued," I'm not saying 'Pick me! Pick me!' or anything but I got this for you before we started getting all dramatic." He finished pulling his hands out infront of him to reveal a small festively wrapped box with a bow untop.

I smiled and bit my lip.

" Thank you," I whispered swallowing the clog that had formed in my throat.

"You don't have to pick me." He coughed silently looking away into the distance, which was a brick student housing building covered with snowfall.

I looked up at him and smiled brightly.

" I know. Happy holidays Rogan." I half smiled, my heart flipping.

" Happy holidays you cheeky half-elf." He smirked shovign the gift into my hands and walking off. I shoved it into my bag and kept on walking.

A moment later I was being bulldozed over, dropping my suitcase and being lifted into the air. My hips helf up as I wiggled and screamed. What a silly boy, of course he needed a hug good-bye right? What cliché didn't have one. I smiled downwards.

Ricky smiled back, his white teeth gleaming, cold nipped cheeks and nose tinted a bright pink. Small locks of blonde hair escaped his beanie.

" Happy Holidays Good lookin'!" He winked and pulled me into a hug.

My heart fell and raised at the same time. I hugged him back taking in the breath I needed to steady myself.

" Happy Holidays blondie." I laughed softly. Ricky put me down and kissed my cheek in a frinedly manner. I rolled my eyes and he winked again, blue eyes sparkling.

" I'll catch you around after the break?" Ricky asked shoving his hands into his coat pockets and quirking an eyebrow.

" Of course Sir Ricky," I laughed.

He smiled. " You have my numba' text me silly lady." And with that he gave me one last hug and walked off into the student resident building.

Gathering all my bags, I pulled in a deep breath and exhaled slowly. A red car beeped loudly infront of me and I walked forward opening the door.

"I missed you sweetie!" Squealed the woman driving.

" I missed you too mom!" I leaned in and hugged her, thorwing all my stuff into the back seat.

We sat there milling over each others lives and how great it was to be back with each other. Family was a huge part of my life. I liked having it with me.

Reaching into my bag I pulled out the small gift wrapped box Rogan had given me. Mom quirked an eyebrow and nodded towards the gift in my hands. I shrugged and began fumbling with the wrapping paper. Mom laughed and I looked over giving her an evil glare, she broke out laughing more.

Finally after throwing the paper on the car floor, I opened the small card board box and pulled out a smaller soft box. The kind that usually held jewelery. Biting my lip, I slowly opened it up and smiled.

Within the box sat a silver chain holding in the middle a twenty sided dungeon's and dragon's dice. I lifted it up. It was definatly the perfect gift. I sighed loudly, causing my mom to peer over and smile.

"From a boy?"

I nodded.

" He must know you well then."

I half smiled and nodded.

If only I could roll this dice and get a a twenty. The highest number choosing the boy for me.

Problem was, which boy was the best?
