Dylan

My head was reeling from everything that I had just learned.

Why is this happening?

Why?

I drove around for hours trying to make sense of everything. But none of it is making sense.

Lia... My sister Lia suffered because of the woman I love's family. How do I get over this? How do I even explain it to my family? How can I be with her?

She lied to me. Everyday we were together. And my sister, she doesn't even know that the reminder of her past is right in front of her. Then there's this sick fuck from Katherine-er Katya's past and he very well might have something to do with my sister.

My sister... I repeated in my head.

I have to warn her.

When I was able to, I immediately made a u-turn and drove to the direction of my sister's house.

I need to warn her. I need to tell Nate. I can't let anything happen to my family.

Not again.

Katherine

I can't blame Dylan for leaving. For walking out on us.

Jasmine was right. I should have been the one to Dylan the truth. It was bad enough that I hid the truth from him, but to find out about it through other means, just dug the betrayal deeper.

I lied to him. And by doing so, I have put him and his family in danger again. Whoever this man is, he is from my past and Lia is part of that past. For all I know, he could be after her too.

I can't let that happen.

I can't let anyone hurt Dylan and his family.

I have to do something to prevent all of this.

I wiped my tears away and with my shaking hands, I looked through my wallet and found what I was looking for.

I looked down at the calling card

Jules Bradley.

He said I could call him if I needed anything. Now is that time.

It's time I put an end to all of this. It's time to leave this all behind me again.

Dylan

"Dyl?" Lia asked as she opened the door. "Is everything okay?" She asked.

I nodded and forced myself to smile. "I need to talk to Nate. In private," I said. I can't blurt this out to her. She can't know about Katherine just yet. I need to talk to Nate first and figure out the best way to tell Lia.

"He's inside. Come in," she said, as she looked at me with concern.

"Is this about Katherine? Is she okay?" She asked.

"She's fine. I just need to talk to Nate," I said.

My sister frowned.

"Hey, Dyl," Nate greeted.

"I need to talk to you," I said.

Concern marred his face. "Okay," he nodded. "Let's go to my office," he said, and I followed him.

We got to his office and I closed the door behind me.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"You were right about Katherine. She was in WITSEC," I went straight to the point.
