Our Rebound

Boredom

After going round the house looking for things to do in order to kill time, I decided to bake some fresh cookies for myself.

Settling down to eat my lunch,i switched on the TV flipping through channels before picking a romance comedy titled "crazy ex girlfriend ".

Halfway through watching the movie and munching on my cookie,i got a call from my friend Thelma.

"Sup babe,how have you been " she asked

"have been good oh we thank God "

"OK wo I have miss you so much, you are at home right" she replied

"yes" I answered cautiously knowing she only call during her lunch break because of my cooking.

"I was thinking of dropping by since am on break to say hi and maybe to get something to eat at your place "she said

"I knew there was a reason for did your call, I knw it isn't to great me"

"haha I miss u now and you know how much I like your cooking, it just so irrisistable" she replied

"OK have heard you, I will be expecting you"

"oh that why I love you,see you in 10minute" she said hanging up.

Thelma has been my best friend since highschool and we were lucky enough to get admitted into the same university so we continued as roommate. She works in a bank, married with two kids and beautiful. She has always been a sucker for my cooking, too lazy to cook and always ready to help.

Thelma arrived exactly 10miute later, always on time.

"Hi girlfriend, you look fresh"she said teasingly while hurrying to the kitchen.

"I can say the same thing about you"i answered

"Well you know how much I care about my body, I don't joke about it,i have to keep it fresh and smooth be sure of my job and my husband"

"Yes that true" handling her a plate of cookies and an orange juice.

"So how has work been and the children"

"The children are on vacation,so I sent them to their grandparent jare, I just want them to get close to them"Thelma answered with a mouth full of cookie

"You want them to visit their grandparent or you want to get rid of them

"Well I may or may not, you are also guilty so stop making me feel bad about it while am having a good lunch" she replied

"what about work? How are you coping? " I asked grabbing a bite from my plate.

"We thank God, am even seeking for promotion and a transfer to the head office,i just hope it pulls through"

"You are so taken by your work that u barely have time for your family " I said

"You of all people should know better than this, we both know I love my job and I don't joke with it. I work for my family you know"she said seriously

"OK alright no need to go all commando mood on me" I replied raising my hands.

"Let talk about something else, What of Ken? Are you guys now back to normal? "she asked

"Hmm he still ignores me,am so fed up of his attitude he doesn't even touch me any more"i answered weeping.

Pulling me into a hug,she said.

"Stop crying Lil all will be well ok,you have to stay strong for your children"

"Am trying it just seems my effort is going to waste"i sobbed more.

"ssss all is going to be fine he wasn't like this when you started, you just have to keep praying OK. Now wipe your tears and smile for me "

Ok thank you "wiping my face I answered

"You know I hate seeing you unhappy, now pack me some cookies to take back to work. We have to do something about your look cos u look like someone from an horror movie "she stated grabbing her things

"Thanks for coming,you really made me happy" I said escorting her to her car.

"I will call you on Saturday OK bye, love you" she said driving off.

Well she really made my day now I just want to nap before Ken get back.
