Dedicating another chapter to @CookieDrugger because without her, I would still be suffering from the worst writers block EVER. And of course, she is totally awesome! Love u Shannon! xx

"Oh my God! Have you seen that new guy? He is totally gorgeous! I mean, he...." Faye trailed off and glared at me. "Adira, are you even listening to a single word that I am saying?"

I blinked, and looked at her. "Um, yeah, sure. Something about a new kid."

She rolled her eyes and threw her hands up into the air. "You are hopeless, Adira! Anyway, do you know what his name is? Someone told me, but I forgot. Something beginning with a D I think."

"Dan." I said automatically.

"Ah!" She said triumphantly. "So you do know him then!"

"I never said I didn't. We hung out yesterday." I said. It's true. After school, I gave him a lift home because he told me his car was in the garage. Whether it was true or not, I didn't know, but I didn't mind giving him a ride anyway. Who would?

Faye groaned. "Not fair! You get all the cute guys!" She leaned towards me. "What's your secret?"

"Um, what?"

"Seriously." Her voice changed from light and joking to...well, pissed off. "I mean, Zayden, Dan...Who next? Matt? Taylor? Sam? Why do you have to be so....." She trailed off angrily.

It was only after she was silent I realised that she had been shouting. She looked away from me, her fists clenched at her sides as we walked along towards the school building.

"Faye, I --"

"Don't. Just don't. Just leave me the hell alone." She snapped, before stalking off towards the cafeteria.

I stood, speechless. What the hell was that? I was too surprised to be angry, but that would probably change in a few minutes. It just hadn't sunk in yet.

"Everything okay?" Dan hesitantly asked from behind me.

I nodded.

"Well," He continued, "It's just that I saw that girl shouting at you, and I was going to be all noble and come to your defence, but she just stormed off. What happened?"

"Faye being Faye. It's nothing." I shrugged, hoping he'd drop it.

"No, Adira. I'm serious. She was obviously giving you a hard time."

I sighed. "It's stupid."

"I won't laugh or anything. Scout's honour." He mock-saluted, making me laugh.

"She thinks that ever since I arrived here, I've been stealing all the guys. Which I haven't, but she's convinced that some of the guys have a crush on me, and she's just jealous. Like I said, it's stupid."

He was quiet for a moment.

"What guys?" He asked.

There was no way in hell I was telling him that.

"Oh, just a few random guys in my class." I said vaguely, but I could feel my face colouring.

He raised an eyebrow. "Bullshit."

I shook my head. No way.

He grinned. "Is it me?"

"What?! No!" I lied. Damn, he figured it out!

He laughed. "It is, isn't it?"

I groaned and put my head in my hands. "I don't know what gave her that idea."
