Tonsils, austrailia, and surpises

Sabrina's POV:

The past year I've been touring Europe and Australia.
It's been so fun! But I really do miss my family and Rowan.

Today, I'll be home from the Australian tour. But I'm keeping it a secret. Im gonna surprise Rowan in the hospital today, because this morning she got her tonsils taken out. She has no idea when I'm supposed to be home.

Carmen and her parents do though. Only because I need to know the room number and when I should even come.

I'm scheduled to land at 12 so by the time I get there it'll be like 1:30.
I'm so excited I can't even stress it enough.

Skip to after the flight

I just got to my car and now I'm on my way to the hospital.
Oh yeah and I'm surprising my parents after too so let's hope they're not there visiting Rowan too..

I just arrived at the hospital and I'm walking to the room.
I suddenly start to feel nervous.
What if she moved on and has been cheating on me with a new girl or boy.

Stop being stupid Sab. You know she's the last person to do that.

She texts me every day right when she woke up and before she went to sleep.
God she's perfect.
She's funny she's beautiful she's outgoing she's just PERFECT.

I can't wait to see her and her reaction.

I go to the door and Carmen notices me and signals me to come in.
I slip through the cracked open door and stay behind the curtain that divides the two beds in the room.
Luckily, no one is in the other bed.
I hear them talking about me.
They're watching a video of me performing a cover of "like I'm gonna lose you" by Meghan trainor.

It's my favorite song to cover and Rowan knows that.
I can't help but blush when she says,
"I really miss her."

Everyone gushes and Carmen does an eyebrow bounce to me. That's our "signal"

I nod and come around the curtain and say,
"What did I miss?"

Rowan's eyes light up so widely and her jaw drops she chokes out through her crying already,
"SA-BRINA?!"

I smile and say,
"Hi."

And go over to her as I tackle her into a hug, but careful of the wiring she's hooked up to and her scar.
I kiss her neck and jawline and all of her face.
She pulls back slightly just to see my face. Her eyes are all red and her cheeks are tear stained.
She pinches my cheeks because she knows I always hated that.

I groan and try to pull my head back but she laughs and kisses me and then wraps her arms around my neck pulling me closer.
She squeezes me and I hug her back.
She says,
"I can't even believe you're here right now."

I say,
"Yeah I haven't told anyone. I wanted to surprise you."

She pats my backpack I'm wearing and says,
"What's in here?"

I say sitting on the side of her bed,
"Shtuff."

She repeats it,
"Shtuff."

We exchange smiles and I feel my eyes well up.
I missed that little smile on that cute little face I get to call mine.

I turn around to greet the rest of her family and see Carmen recording the whole time.
I smirk and grab her phone from her as she tries to get it back from me.

I give it back and say,
"Thanks for helping me with this agent spy Carmen."

She smiles and says saluting me,
"All in a day's work."

After, I go back to Rowan and kiss her cheek sitting on her bed again.

She lovingly looks at me for a while and I stare back into her eyes.
I rub her arm with my thumb.
I feel myself instinctively moving in.
I kiss her softly yet passionately and let our foreheads rest on each other's.

Our moment is torn apart when her dad asks,
"So how was Australia?"

Her mom punches his side and she says,
"Ow what?"

She says through gritted teeth,
"They were having a moment."

He throws his hands up in defense and says,
"Sorry."

I laugh and say,
"It was good. Very cold and very tiring, but fun."

He says,
"Oh jeez you're right it must be late over there!"

I nod and say,
"Think it's like 1 or 2am."

He says,
"Exactly 12 hours behind."

I say,
"Yep. Gonna be weird to get used to."

Rowan says,
"You'll be out tonight."

I lay my head on her shoulder cuddling into her neck and nod my head closing my eyes.

I ask,
"So when do you get out?"

She pouts,
"Tomorrow morning."

I purse my lips and say,
"Oh. Can I stay the night with you?"

She smiles and says,
"Sweetie that's not even a question."

Her mom says,
"Okay wait yes you can sleep together but not sleep together."

I joke,
"Yeah you're right. We can't with all this machinery in the way."

Everyone laughs and Rowan whispers,
"Wait till we get home."

I say aloud almost right away,
"YES."

Rowan shushes me laughing and her parents exchange smirks.

Good thing she got her tonsils out.
