Sneak out

Riley's POV:

I wake up to multiple texts from my girlfriend maya:

Maya: stop being a good kid and wake up
Maya: it's only 12
Maya: let's go out somewhere
Maya: please I'm bored
Maya: and I miss you

I squint my eyes at my phones brightness and groan and text back:

Riley: your fault you're dating a good kid
Maya: I can't help falling in love
Riley: with youuu
Maya: not a song reference but
Riley: okay going back to beddd goodnight
Maya: NO
Maya: don't you dare
Maya: if you do I'm coming over there and ripping your ass out of bed
Maya: and we're gonna go sneak out and explore
Riley: we have class tomorrow are you insane
Maya: okay.. Honey?
Riley: yes peaches?
Maya: 1.) tomorrow is Saturday.
Maya: 2.) even if we did. Do you even know me?!
Riley: all good points..
Maya: I'm coming over get dressed
Riley: ugh
Maya: do you not wanna see me :(
Riley: I always want to
Maya: mhmm.
Riley: no really! I wish I could wake up net to you every day babe❤️
Maya: nice save
Maya: but really be ready in 5 minutes

I quietly get out of bed and pull out a big hoodie that I think is Zay's that he left here and put on a pair of black leggings.
I quietly go to the bay window and wait for Maya.

In a few minutes I get a text saying "I'm here"
from maya.

I open and close the window getting out and am greeted by maya at the fire escape. She kisses my cheek and helps me down the ladder.
When we get down I intertwine our fingers and sway our arms and say happily,
"So where are we going?"

She shrugs and says,
"I dunno."

I say,
"Well. What's there to do?"

She says,
"Uhhhh. Yeah I still don't know."

I say,
"You wanna get some ice cream?"

She looks at her phone for the time and says,
"What place is gonna be open at midnight?"

I say,
"Isn't Rita's open 24/7?"

She says,
"Oh yeah. You're right."

I say astounded,
"I have to say that is the FIRST time you've never admitted I'm right!"

She laughs and says,
"Don't let it get to your head, babe."

I smile and start to think to myself how truly lucky I am to have maya. And honestly it amazes me how we get along so perfect. I mean we're basically polar opposites! The only thing we share in common is our love for each other.
But how could she ever love a weirdo like me?
I mean. She's easy to love.
She's a little adorable softy. But on the outside she puts up an iron wall. But in reality, she's a lamb.
My lamb.

I say,
"Peaches?"

She says,
"Yeah riles?"

I ask,
"Why do you love me?"

She squeezes my hand and says,
"Because you're the biggest dork I've ever met. In your innocent cute mind you somehow learn to have hope for everyone that everything will be okay. I on the other hand as you know just go with whatever comes and if I'm lucky so be it and if I'm not oh well. I need you to remind me there is hope for some things. We balance each other out. Not to mention how just utterly adorable you are."

I grin at her and say,
"Aweee you really are a softy."

She smirks and says,
"Only when it comes to you."

I turn to her and say,
"I love you."

She pecks my lips and says,
"And I love you."
