Chapter Twelve

"So, matagal na ba kayo ni Lance?"

Napatigil si Lance sa paglalakad ng marinig ang pamilyar na boses ng pinsan niya. Lumapit siya ng konti pero tumigil siya sa may gilid ng green house, just enough para hindi siya mapansin.

Narinig niyang may tumawa.

Si KC.

Tss. Nandito lang pala. -_-

I gave away more than I had

In a blinding cold, casket black

When the sun went down

And never did return.

"Hmm.. Kami ni Lance?" Tumawa ulit ito. "Hindi naman ganun katagal, three weeks." Sagot ni KC.

"Alam mo bang ikaw ang unang pinakilala niya sa pamilya?" Sabi naman ni Clay.

"Sabi nga nila, ako daw. I don't know if I should be happy or kabahan ako." Nakangiti si KC habang sinasabi yun.

So far, warmth crosses over Lance's heart nung marinig niya na na sinabi ni KC yung tungkol sa kanila. He can't seem to find the strength to walk away, basta ang alam niya, he wanted to hear their conversation. Call him and eavesdropper or what, but... He needed to hear everything.

Like a gasoline on an open flame

Light up so bright

Then burn away

If I fall apart

Look the other way

"Of all the boys in your school, why did you fall for Lance?"

Tiningnan ni Lance si KC, nakatingin ito sa langit at nakapikit.

"Bakit nga ba si Lance?" Pag-uulit na tanong ni KC. Nagbaba ito ng tingin at tumingin kay Clay, "Secret!" Sabi nito.

Para namang nalaglag yung balikat ni Lance. Why is he expecting anyway?

Maybe just a glimpse of the light

"Alam mo kasi si Lance..." Bumalik ang tingin ni Lance kay KC.

Huminga ng malalim si KC bago nagpatuloy. "Si Lance kasi gwapo, mayaman, at matalino. Yun nga lang masungit." Kibit-balikat na sabi ni KC.

Superficial lang din pala ang tinitingnan ni KC. Naisip ni Lance.

And it's hard to say times are bad

Cause it's been much worse,

And the prayers come slow for me at first,

Then the dame broke down

And the rivers surged

I am on my knees wondering what it's worth

"Pero alam mo, kahit masungit si Lance at hindi nagsasalita, alam ko mabait yun. Lance has a good heart. Matiyaga siya at matapang. Maraming gwapo sa school, but they are all empty. Si Lance kasi, alam mong siya yung tipo ng tao na may sense, hindi yung basta gwapo, okay na. Basta, ang hirap i-explain, basta kasi si Lance... Wala, siya si Lance eh. Siya lang ang nag-iisang Lance Go na masungit at hindi nagsasalita. Siya si Lance, wala ng iba."

And I said hold up

Napangiti si Lance sa sinabi ni KC. So, yun pala ang naiisip ni KC sa kanya. Somehow, he felt happy. It's a different feeling this time.

"You really love him that much, huh?" Sabi ni Clay.

Pero ngiti lang ang sinagot ni KC. It's too soon to tell that you love a person, lalo na't they started on the wrong foot and there's still so much things to happen in the future.
