Rosalie's POV

I let out a scoff as I watched Adeline jump off the roof. I put my bow on my back and looked ahead. "I better get going." I muttered to myself and walked a few steps back only to run and jump to the roof of the house across. I walked to the edge and carelessly sat on it, my legs crossed and dangling in the air, letting the cold breeze hit my face and neck.

After a few minutes of admiring the boring scenery that London had to display, I heard panting. I looked down and saw a girl with dark brown almost black hair. "That must be her." I said and stood up only to let myself fall. I landed swiftly on the ground and followed her, walking of course. She made abrupt twists and turns around London until she got to a house in a pretty bad state. She slammed the door open and entered the small house. I entered behind her, taking my bow and one arrow from my back. I took my time to look around since the house didn't look of great size. It didn't have much decoration, though. It was plain and badly kept. "No!" The scream made me walk further into the house. I walked into a hallway where there was a single door on each side. One was open, the other was closed. I opened the closed one first and my eyebrows furrowed. I don't like the smell. Two bodies were laid down in an unmade bed. They weren't moving nor breathing. I walked inside the room and stood next to the bed. The bodies belonged to a man and a woman. There was no trace of their lives, so they must have been dead for a while now and their souls reaped. I pulled the now yellow covers on them. I eyed them once more before going back to the hallway. I let out a small breath and stepped out of the room, closing the door again. I decided to step inside the room across. The girl was kneeling down on the floor, looking down. I saw a pair of feet next to her, meaning she was hugging the person. Her whole body was shaking as sobs escaped her mouth. I guess it is time to end this family's misery one and for all.  I put the arrow on the bow ad lifted it up. I aimed at the girl and closed one eye for better aiming. "I'm... Sorry..." My eyes widened and my mouth opened slightly.

Flashback

"Mother? Father? Aaron?" I asked out loud when I got to the main hallway. I went to the first room, my brother's. The door was opened slightly making me frown. "Aaron?" I called for my brother but only got silence. I pushed the door open and my eyes widened. My breath hitched and I covered my mouth as my tears fell on my cheeks effortlessly. The now body that belonged to my brother was laid down, next to the wall. It was covered in blood and had a huge cut on the chest and back. His once bright chocolate eyes were now dull and staring at nothing. I ran to my parents room and yelled. The bodies of my mother and father were laid down on the bed, blood on the bed and the floor surrounding it. They were staring also at nothing with their dull eyes. I felt like throwing up and I went out of the room. My knees went weak and I fell harshly on them in between the hallway. My eyes were wide and blurry with tears. My hand on my mouth for no reason at all. My whole being hurt. I chocked back a sob as I recalled the events. Why couldn't I save them? Why did I had to wake up in the middle of the night to that scene? Why my family?  Why am I alive? This time, I did not even bother to hide my pain. This man made a big wound, a wound that made me feel sick and want to die. "Mother, father, Aaron... I am so bloody sorry..." I whispered in between loud sobs.

End of Flashback.

My eyes wide and my mouth opened slightly. The arrow fell to the cold floor, vanishing the moment it made contact with it. I put the bow down as my arms returned to their initial position at my sides. "I.. I can't." I said making her stop her sobbing for a second and turn to look at me with confused and teary eyes. The wet trail of her tears was visible on her tan cheeks. I just couldn't. Hell, how could I if I saw myself when she said those words? Those words that made you want to go back in time and do it all over again. Do everything right, at the right moment. Perhaps, do it a little earlier, or a little faster. To stop thinking about what could have happened if things had not gone the way they did. Could you be a happy family? Could everything be back to normal? Could it happen to someone else? The questions were too many. I knew how she felt. Crushed, lost, anxious, scared, desperate, sad, angry. All of them mixed into one: helplessness. She was trying too hard to stop something inevitable. Her family was going to die one way or another. Perhaps, of agedness, or a tragic accident, crossed fire, a fire, hypothermia. The chances were too many. So many, that you could wonder, why not the fast and painless way? Or why not when they were asleep? I knew how she felt and for the first time in a long time, I felt myself cry. I had seen too much people die by now that it didn't faze me anymore. But, replaying those memories in my head, those memories that I had kept deep inside my head.

"To hell with it." I muttered and walked over to her, putting my bow behind my back. "We have to go." I told her as I held her arm. "W.. Why?" She asked in between small sobs. "Question me later. Let's get going." I tugged lightly at her arm. She glanced one last time at the body laying on her lap. The memories of his life going out of his body and revolving around us. Better known as cinematic records. The person was younger and had similar features as her. Her younger brother... I would have stopped to look at them but I refrained myself from it. I'll have someone else reap his soul.

She laid him down on the floor and gave him a kiss on the forehead. She let out a shaky breath and stood up. "Let's go." She muttered, her voice shaky and cracked at the end. I held her wrist and took her out of the room, closing the door behind us. "Ahhh!" I heard a scream and recognized the voice instantly. I basically dragged the girl with me into a narrow street. There, Adeline was fighting with a man in quite a fancy suit. Adeline had her knives in each of her hands as he had knives in his hands, too. A younger kid with navy blue hair and a bright blue eye was standing and watching from afar. His other eye was patched, though. I turned to look at the girl as I bent a little to have a better look at her face. "Hey, could you tell me your name?" I asked softly. "L.. Lu.. Lucy." She said sniffling. "Okay, Lucy. My name is Rosalie. I am going to need to tell you to stay here, okay? Do not come out until I tell you." I said and she nodded wiping a few tears. I gave her a soft smile that she didn't return. I could tell her to close her eyes because things were going to get uglier but it would be too stupid coming from me. She has just been in hell.

I stood up straight and turned around. Adeline had a few cuts on her body and a pair of bloody knives on her hands. The man had also a few cuts and knives in his hands. Oddly, they were those knives used for eating. I wanted to laugh so badly, but it would ruin the moment so I decided against it. I put the arrow on the bow and aimed for something... Or better... Someone... I closed my left eye for a better aiming and started breathing deeply. I let out a deep, steady breath and let the arrow go from my grasp. The arrow quickly made its way to where the kid was standing. I smirked as I saw the kid's eyes widen in surprise. Before the arrow pierced his pretty little face, it vanished into black smoke. I wasn't going to kill him. At least, not yet.

"You took long enough." I heard Adeline say making me smile.
