Adeline's POV

I let out heavy sigh as Rosalie and I were standing in the roof of a high building. I was playing with the knife in my hand, passing it on the spaces between my fingers with a quick speed, staring at nothing in particular. Rosalie was adjusting the sharp ends of her bow. The black arrows were resting on a bag the same color on her back. The wind was blowing not so softly and the skies were grey and gloomy.

Not a nice day to die, huh?

"Who do we have to kill again?" Rosalie asked still focusing on the sharp end. "Two people. A girl that goes by the name of Lucy Stone, and a boy that goes by the name of Ciel Phantomhive." I said indifferently. "Phantomhive? Like the owner of that toy industry?" Rose asked with a raised eyebrow as she looked at me. All interest in those sharp ends, lost. "I think so." I said shrugging as I kept looking at my fingers.

"Let's get to work. I take the boy." I said after a while as I stopped playing with the knife and keeping it on the inside of my boot. Without waiting for a reply, I ran to the other side of where we were standing and jumped off the roof. I landed softly on the ground, with my knees bent. I stood up straight and looked up to see a kid with one eye covered with a black patch and his other bright blue eye contrasting with his pale white skin. Navy blue hair adorned with a fancy hat. He wore a fancy suit and used a cane made exactly for his size, which wasn't that big. With him, was a man in a suit, both coming out of a store, at the other side of the narrow street, we were in. They were talking to each other, well, more like, the kid was talking, earning 'Yes, my lord.' from the man. I frowned as I looked at the man's eyes.

Bright red.

I smirked and took a small rock near me. I threw it up in the air and caught it with one hand. I did it a few times until I caught it one last time and threw it, aiming straight at him. My smirk grew wider as he caught it swiftly with one hand without bothering to look. "Beautiful throwing skills for a lady." He said as he looked at me with a smirk of his own. "I appreciate the compliment." I said. "I'm supposing I have to go through you to get to him?" I said but it sounded more like a question as I pointed to the kid with my chin. "I'm afraid so." He said smirking and I let out a breath of procrastination. "Very well then." I said taking out my knives (more like daggers) from the insides of my boots. I threw a knife with my right hand, aiming directly at his face but he was fast enough and caught it in between his left middle and index fingers, the blade making them bleed a little. The blade was milimeters from his eye. He returned the favour and threw me one of his knives that came out of nowhere with his right hand. I cursed internally by the high speed the knife had as it went directly at my face, too. I caught it on time, holding the blade with my closed palm, making a clean cut on my skin. I opened my right hand and held the bloodied knife from the handle. I let out the breath I didn't know I was holding and frowned. I looked at the knife and then at the man with a raised eyebrow.

It was a cutlery knife...

He gave me a small, closed eye smiled and I let out a huff. We both threw back the knives at the same time with an amazing speed. The knife grazed and cut his left arm while my own knife grazed and cut my left leg. Our actions were quite synchronized if you ask me. Without going for the knives that were on the floor with our blood, we threw another knife. The moment I took quickly my knife from the floor, the other cut my left arm. This bitch! I hissed and looked at him searching for new cuts in his body. One on his right shoulder. Good.

The next moments were full of knife throwing, as if we were the wooden target of the other, which in reality, we were. It caused in us ending with full of cuts, of all lengths and depths. The kid just stood next to the wall, watching with annoyance our little spectacle. The man threw my knife back the same time I returned his. "Ahhh!" I couldn't help but scream when I felt the knife landing and piercing my leg, blood oozing from it instantly. I looked up, anger boiling inside me. I felt slight satisfaction when I saw his own knife hand landed on his side, blood oozing from it, too. I took out the knife with a trembling hand and watched the trail of blood run down my leg. I glared a the man as I held my bloodied knife, ready to throw it back. We were ready to start another fit of knife throwing but before we could even get started, my eyes caught a glimpse of black going straight at the kid. I saw how the kid's eyes widened and the man's smirk vanish.

"You took long enough." I said smirking widely.
