Chapter Thirty-Six

-Taylor’s P.O.V-

Unfortunately I couldn’t escape from Stella and Francesca and we were hanging around by the road with alcohol. Okay, so I’ve lied to them that I drank it and flung it into the rubbish bin. Who cares? I know alcohol isn’t cheap, nor is it pricy, that depends on what kind you buy, but I didn’t spend any penny on it so what’s to lose?

I’ve ran home right after that feeling wobbly. I think I’ve ran too quick. I’m not a really good runner, so when I’ve ran for such a long time without stopping while in such a high speed, it’s no wonder why my bones could break any second.

After regaining my breath, I’ve pushed the front door open and to my surprise, there isn’t anybody home. Oh, this is rather unusual. Maybe Tessa got a job? Maybe Mom went grocery shopping? Dad is probably at work, of course.

          “Uh…”

I’ve spun around in panic feeling my nerve cells reacting. “Shoot, Shane! What? Are you trying to give me a heart attack?!”

“Nope.” He said firmly, smiling suddenly.

“Urgh, don’t do that.” I snapped. “What do you want?”

“Man, don’t sound so harsh. What did I ever do to you?”

“That’s a stupid question.” I walked into the house and somehow he had invited himself in. Oh well, I guess I can’t leave him outside, can I? “What brings you here?”

“Oh, nothing.” He shrugged casually. “I just wanted to drop by and say hi.”

“Look, if this is about the hangover then forget it. I’ve been getting that constantly today.”

“No, it’s not about that.” he said. “But I’d like to know if you realized what just happened yesterday.”

“Yes, yes, I know what happened. Please don’t repeat the whole thing like how the others did. I’m having a horrible time, and to top it all off I think I’m going to pass out.” I sat down tiredly on the couch. “I’m just so sick of it all.”

“What’re you so sick about?” he asked.

“Everything.” I sighed. “Everything is wrong. Nothing seems right.”

          “Why?”

          “I don’t know why. I wish I knew.” I frowned helplessly.

“Does this have anything to do with the makeover?”

“No, the makeover is fine…” I slurred. “…not exactly fine.”

“What’s wrong with it?” he asked carefully.

“I think I’ve turned into some stupid girl ever since. I feel like I’ve caused a bundle of damage to my life and others, and then Drew came along…”
