Do You Like It Here?

Do you like it here?

I mean, I know you’ve lived here for a while, and I imagine there’s a reason for that.

But I just don’t like it here. I think it’s the people. They bother me.

Maybe it’s because all my friends from elementary school are now doing drugs and having sex with each other.

Maybe it’s because I’ve lost touch with everyone I cared about.

Maybe it’s because my whole future is determined by a test made by some guy in a different state that doesn’t know me or what I go through every day.

Maybe it’s because my favorite teacher, the only one who told us that maybe we wouldn’t amount to anything, just got fired for reasons I don’t know about.

Or maybe I’m just being angsty.
