I put my hand against your chest and rested it there,
I left it there because for some odd reason I could feel your heart thumping right under it.
It was loud and crazy, and I didn't understand how someone's heart could ever beat that fast.
I asked you why it was that way, why it was that your heart was beating so damn fast.
You responded "I don't know, you make me nervous." With a small chuckle.
We had known each other for years so it was almost impossible that I still made you nervous,
But then I understood that it wasn't just me it was the situation we were in.
We had never seen each other in this new light,
as our heavy breathing mixed and I knew you could feel my heartbeat too.
