014 (Ivan’s POV)

“When he shall die, take him and cut him out in little stars,

And he will make the face of heaven so fine.”

~Romeo & Juliet; Shakespeare

“Almost done, kid?” I turned around to see the humanoid hovering at the door.

I sighed as I got off the stall. I started to look around at my new handy work then.

“I guess so. You think she’ll like it?”

He pressed his lips together as his hands fell on his hips. He looked around and examined my project. “I don’t see why she won’t. She loves everything you do for her.”

I nodded since I feel awkward talking to Tam’s humanoid father without arguing really what is and what is not good for his daughter. He seems not in his anthropoid mood to rattle on me so I let him with his cool and breezy mood. Don’t want the sun setting down so early on my part.

“I’d like to thank you, kid for making all of these for Tamara. You make her very happy.” The humanoid said and I’d be a total jerk liar if I say that he’s not sincere at all. I can see it in his primate eyes.

“It’s not a big deal, sir.” I said but he cuts me off before I could formulate a new humble sentence.

“But it is for us. We’ve never seen her this happy since… you’re a good change for her as well as she is for you.”

I had to smile for it. “She is.”

“When we brought Tam home from the hospital after her accident, we thought everything was going back to normal. The doctor had said that she had a concussion but we disregarded that fact. Tamara looked so normal. We thought she’s gonna be okay until we got home and she asked about Jared. She didn’t remember the accident. As days gone by she got even worse. Forgetting things from before, forgetting a simple conversation she had with us. Sometimes, it’s just her instincts that tell her that she lived here and we are her parents.” he sighs and he starts to pinch his closed eyes with his fingers. “But when you came, she started to remember things even for a little while.”

I felt a spark of hope run into my veins. “She does?”

Her father nods. “We had it in her results. That’s why Dr. Seuss had relieved her from the asylum. He thinks that it’s best if Tamara sees you.”

Finally! Thank Dr. Boy George for that! He’s been very helpful to me.

“Look, kid. I am sorry. I’ve been wrong about you.” he starts to say and my subconscious sat up straight on his couch.

“It’s okay, sir. I couldn’t blame you for the things you’ve said. You only want what’s best for Tamara.” He nods understandingly and he crosses the room to get to me. He awkwardly places his arms on my shoulder and he looks intently at me.

You are what’s best for my daughter.”

Aww. Should I cry now? This is such a paternal and theatrical moment for me that my heart starts to do some jumping ropes right at the corner. These things don’t usually happen to me.

“But sir, I haven’t even proposed to her.” I said jokingly and his eyes narrowed at me. Swiftly, his hands were on my collar. “That was a joke.”
