Please Give Up On Me

I'm not going to let you in
Doesn't matter how hard you try
The door stays locked
And you stay outside
So please stop trying
Your knocking hurts my ears

Don't bother looking for the key
I threw it away a long time ago
I had no use for it anymore
Not when it had only let pain in
It's easier to keep everything out
Than risk ever feeling like that again

I feel your eyes on me
Get away from the keyhole
Don't you understand?
I want to be alone.
Why else would I lock myself away?
Please, give up on me.

Stop saying you love me
I know you don't care
Just shut up!
Stop talking to me
Your words make me weak
But I will never give in.

Is he gone?
I knew he would
Nobody stays forever.
