"I'm here, I'm always here. I would never go away."

Someone's in a bad mood," Ethan commented, and I gave him a glare.

"Come on, you know you can tell me anything!" He nudged,

"Seriously fuck off," I pushed him away inhaling the cigarette between my fingers.

He sighed, "let me guess it's Riley, isn't it?"

Was it really that obvious? I didn't know she could have that affect on me. I've only knew her for a couple of months, and I couldn't handle her ignoring me for two days, great. I had to admit, lunch felt empty without her sarcastic comments and awful jokes. She can be a pain in the ass sometimes, but I was actually looking forward to the idea of us becoming friends. Damn, getting attached to someone is pretty fucking scary.

"I'll take your silence as a yes," he grins

"Whatever," I brushed it off. Lying to him was no use, he was so fucking persistent and annoying, he would get something out of me somehow.

"Lovers quarrel? Have to admit, I didn't know she was your type," he says taking a sib of the beer on the table.

"She's not. I don't even like her like that." I said in a stern voice. That I was sure of. I think she is somewhere between a friend and an acquaintance.

"So what exactly happened to set you off like that?"

I gave in, "She set me up with her friend at the coffee shop, then she got mad because we were 'flirting'. Doesn't make any fucking sense!" I raised my voice

"Wait so you flirted with the girl while Riley was there?"  He looks at me like I like I just killed his newborn child.

"Big deal, so what? She set us up, what was she expecting us to talk about? Our favourite colours?" I mock sarcastically.

"Come on Evan, I have more experience with girls. And I can tell you that they don't like to be a third wheel. Don't be a pussy, just go up to her and say sorry. Little tip, they like puppy eyes," he throws a wink, and I roll my eyes.

He was probably right; I had no serious experience with relationships or girls. My glares would usually send them running, it wasn't like I did it on purpose.

Maybe I'll talk to her tomorrow, tonight I just wanted to get high.

"Riley," I whispered, loud enough so only she can here me.

She stayed focus on Mr.Gilbert's science experiment. Not to brag or anything, but I was pretty sure I was more interesting than a density ball experiment,

"Riley," I repeat, this time lightly kicking her leg,

She was still silent, "Riley I know you can hear me,"

Finally, she turned so she was facing me, "What do you want, Evan?"

I run a hand through my hair nervously, I wasn't good at this apology thing. "Look, I'm sorry. What I did then was an ass move-"

"Yeah no shit." She rolls her eyes,

I glare and she lets me finish, "So basically I'm trying to apologize," I sigh. She stays quiet considering it.

I pause for a second and consider Ethan's puppy eyes advice, you can't be fucking serous right now, my reputation will be ruined forever. I might as well give it a try, because as you can see I was in a pretty desperate position.

So, I just go for it.

She bursts into fits of laughter earning stares for everyone in the class.

"Care to share what's so funny, Riley?" Mr.Gibson says, obviously annoyed that she interrupted his lesson.

"I'm sorry, I just remembered something funny," her cheeks turn red out of embarrassment, and I smirk.

Mr.Gibson shakes his head out of disapproval but carries on with his lesson.

"So does that mean you forgive me?" I grin

"How can I say no to puppy eyes?"

Remind me to thank Ethan.

VOTE|COMMENT PLEASE❤️❤️ thank you if you made it that far in my book, I'm still working on it, so feel free to comment or PM me any advice or suggestions you want. P.s this book won't be about drugs and depression (there will be a few parts, my description was pretty straight forward, but it won't revolve around that), but it won't be happy and bubbly either. I'm trying out something new, and a little bit mature. Hope you enjoy it!:)
