(Lucy's POV)

I woke up on a bed and I felt very tired. I looked around the hospital room I was in. It was empty and I was hooked up to a heart rate monitor. It was starting to slightly speed up. I don't even know why I was panicking. Was it because I thought that Luke was coming back for me?

Doctors rushed in telling me to calm down and that it was okay. How was I supposed to calm down when they were all practically shouting at me. I felt dizzy again and I did my best to block out the voices. I looked around at all of the faces watching me with anticipation. I began to mumble incoherent words as they tried to get my attention.

"Enough!" I heard someone shout. All of the voices quieted. "Leave this room. You all know better than to pester a patient. Out!" The man yelled. They all filed out of the room in silence as the man stood there with a red face. He walked over to me and started to check things and take tests. I didn't even know. "Well, Lucy. You're good to go. This will be free as the police are going to pay for your expenses. You may go whenever. I'm very sorry for those employees. They know better. Good day." He left without another word.

I sat up. My clothes were on a neat pile on the desk next to my bed. I grabbed them and walked into the bathroom. I stripped out of the hospital gown and slipped into my own clothes which were a lot more comfortable than what I was wearing. Leaving the gown on the toilet, I left the bathroom and walked out of the small room.

I walked past the sign in desk and walked right out. How I thought that I could just leave, I don't know. Thankfully, Officer Kaden was waiting for me. He ushered me over and I just complied by walking like a zombie. "Hello, Ms. McMillan." He greeted.

I walked past him and got into the patrol car without another word. I could hear him sigh before I shut the door. He walked over to his side and got in. The car roared to life and we sped down the road back towards the police station. We arrived and I got out of the car before he got a chance to completely stop.

When I walked into the station, the strong smell of coffee hit my nose. My nose crinkled instinctively. I was led by Officer Kaden to an interview room. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by Jason pacing by the bar covered window.

He froze and his eyes met mine. I ran to his arms and he brought me in for a long hold while I cried into his chest. I continued to cry until we fell to the floor. By then I was full on sobbing. I felt something wet on my shoulder and I looked up. Tears were falling from Jason's sad, lost eyes.

I wiped away his tears and smiled weakly at him. He did the same and leaned his head down towards mine. He kissed me passionately which I happily reciprocated for him. "I love you so much, Lucy."

"I love you, too, Jason." He pecked my lips one last time before pulling away.

(Jason's POV)

After Lucy and I composed ourselves, we looked at the Officers waiting to see what we should do next. "You guys can leave. Lucy, I assume you will be staying with your grandparents?"

"Her grandparents aren't here. They had to leave town. They should be here tonight. She can stay with me until then." I told the Officers. I had to fight for Lucy to stay with me. There was no way I was letting her out of my sight. Not this time. She will come and leave school with me, if she wants to that is, and will stay with me full time if I can get it to happen. She-

"Okay, that's great. We just need you to sign some papers and then you may leave." The detective broke me from my protective thoughts.

We left the interview room and were led to the front of the police station. "Just sign your names here and here and then you can go." One of the Officers informed. Lucy signed her name and then I signed mine. "Okay, you can go."
