The house was huge, the walls a neutral cream colour with the occasional artists painting hanging on the walls. The house was decorated with modern furnishings but yet it had an essence of an antique atmosphere around. The only sound I could hear was the tipper tapper of my keyboard as I typed my report out. Yawning I decided to go for a walk of the grounds. Walking down the corridor I passed a man he had two young children with him they were clutching tightly to his long duster coat. I barely noticed them really but their faces were a complete blur. I mean at a first glance there would be some sort of face but this time there was nothing but a grey blur on what should have been a face. The skin was pale like the pure white of fresh snow. I walked on a tad creeped out but I put it to the back of my mind. As I walked I had the odd feeling I was being watched I turned around to see nothing, wrapping my arms around me I turned back around just as a another man passed straight past me, again he had no face. He was a tall, strong muscular build with dark, practically black, shaggy hair, he was wearing a pair of black jeans and a fitted black long sleeve shirt, and just like the children and man before his skin was a perfect white. I looked down at my feet so it wouldn't appear that I was staring but when I looked up he was gone. I walked over to the window on the opposite side of the corridor and looked outside. There wasn't much to see the whole building was covered with thick dense forest. The high and mighty pine trees towered higher than the house and the ground was covered with tiny pine needles all of the same shade of brown. As I turned back and headed back to my room I heard a howling, the howls of a distant wolf. I stopped in my tracks. The howls continued getting closer and closer, I ran into my room slamming the door shut behind me and locking it. I leaned against it panting. A few moments passed and I decided to look out of the window again. This time I couldn't see anything not even the trees I knew where about a meter and a half away from me. Exhausted I lay down on my bed and drifted into a dreamless light sleep.

I woke the next morning with a shock... I looked around my room feeling disorientated and confused. Was it a bad dream? I jumped out of my bed and walked over to the door, opening it slightly so that I could just see the corridor. There were maids running around cleaning the already immaculate house, I opened the door fully to take a closer look at the maid nearest to my room. She has fiery red hair wrapped up in a tight bun on the top of her head, her clothes were the typical maids uniform. I looked closely at her face...there was nothing but the same grey blur I saw on the man and children. What is going on here?

"May I help you Miss??"

I spun round and saw one of the maids infront of me, I composed my face when I saw that her face was the same as the others.

"Errr no thank you, I was just....trying to find someone!"

"Well your husband and children are in the game room, young Charles is teaching Lillian to play snap!"

I stared at the blurred face...Husband?? Children?? "Oh yes of course....will you take me there?"

"Of course Miss...this way!"

I followed her down many corridors to a room that was filled with children's toys. The walls were decorated bright colour's and numerous of pictures of different cartoon characters and animals.

The maid introduced herself with a curtsy, I was tempted to copy her, then I realized I may be the boss's wife! "Hello Sir Malcolm, I've brought young Miss Indigo to you."

The man she called Malcolm stood up and walked over to me. He was quite tall, about 6 ft, and had brown hair that was neatly combed so that his fringe covered some of his blurred face. "Sweet sweet Indigo, how did you sleep last night? You didn't seem yourself when I saw you!"

I looked at him closely, trying to find at least an outline of an eye. "I...I...I was not concentrating last night...I must of missed you!"

"That's fine my sweet, we all have our...how would you say it??.... Off days."

I was still looking at him when I heard a child shout, "CHALRES THAT'S NOT FAIR!! DADDY MAKE HIM PLAY FAIR!!"

I looked at the children fighting at the small round table; there was a small blonde haired boy and an even smaller blonde haired girl. Malcolm looked at the two children and the squabble stopped almost automatically. I was sort of glad that the faces were blurred at this point, the maid's body stiffened and she dismissed herself in seconds of the squabble ending. Malcolm continued to look at the children while they slowly sat down and looked at the table. I turned to look at Malcolm... His head was turned away and still looking at the children.

"Malcolm I think they've learnt their lesson...."
