Memories faded away.
but nightmares chased her
How was her life before? No one seemed to want to let her know.
Minyoung!
She didn't really care about the past
but she has this awful feeling that she's forgotten something important.
slowly, Minyo...
Jungkook had never seen Minyoung sing before and he didn't want to see it again. He made a mental note that he should never ask her to sing again whatsoever.
Minyoung was holding the Mic singing her heart out. The songs had been an escape from all the worries. Jimin always shared his favorite songs with her. Doctors used to make her listen to the songs she used to listen to before the accident, before giving up on her remembering anything at the time being.
She'd been cocking to her favorite trot song 'Love battery.' Then 'so hot' by a famous girl group with Jina joining her. They sang a lot and danced, till their throat sore.
Forgetting about anything, any worries, Minyoung drown in the songs as the adrenaline rushed through her veins.
Jungkook was watching in amazement. Wondering if he'd met Minyoung in different circumstances, would they act like a normal teenager? Going every day to the karaoke, playing games, sharing love with no complicated, enjoying youth without pain?
All of those sounded like a beautiful dream and the reality always hits hard.
He changed his mind about not asking her to sing again. If singing was the thing that made her so happy like this, he would let her sing forever, whenever and whatever she liked to.
No matter how terrible her singing was, he was ready to listen to her.
She forgot about her grieve about her brother that she didn't get to know or to see. About forgetting him when he was the most important person in her life.
Bambam took off his jacket and tied it around his waist, before joining the girls in their many dance. Jungkook chuckled at their silliness. He found them a bunch of high school who was enjoying the moment.
"Join us, dude." Bambam waved for him to approach but he refused.
Minyoung approached him and his eyes widened, when she extended her arms for him to take. He shook his head, a smile drawn over his face, but he wasn't looking at her. He felt heat rushing to his cheeks, not sure if he could meet her eyes. Minyoung pouted, but didn't give up. She held his hands and pulled him to stand up.
There was no way he would join this circus. It was a mess.
Now it wasn't only Minyoung who wanted him to dance with them, as Bambam and Jina started to pull him from his place.
Finding himself in the middle of the room, a Mic in a hand and a tambourine on the other one, Jungkook started to shake his hand bit by bit as the tambourine started to shake as well. He wanted to run out of the room out of the embarrassment, the room was getting so hot. But he sang anyway.
Minyoung smiled at him, probably noticing how hard he was trying.
Her smile made him forget about everything and he smiled back at her. Eyes fixed on her moving around, jumping, dancing with Jina. It felt nice seeing her hyper like this, with no pain and no sadness.
When they started to get exhausted, the girls crouched on the couch next to each other. Laughing and still talking about how silly Bambam was and how Jungkook was really good at singing.
"It almost felt bad singing with him." Jina commented and Minyoung agreed, nodding her head.
She looked at him with eyes, he wouldn't miss. It made his stomach clench with a soft wave of warmth.
"Give up on boxing and convert to singing." Bambam said, pushing his shoulder as he sat next to him. They were sitting just opposite to the girls, who were out of breath, their faces red from the previous adrenaline rush.
"I need some air." Jina stood up and Minyoung stood up as well. She said, "I'm coming with you."
They walked out of the room, leaving Jungkook and Bambam along with a soft music in the background.
"This is weird." Bambam said, commenting on the music.
Jungkook still heard the loud noises in his ears of tambourine and the loud songs. Ringing through his brain. "Yeah, change it."
Bambam reached for the pad and stopped the music, setting the room in a deep silence. All the could hear was their steady breath. Around the karaoke room, there were Minyoung and Jina's jackets placed on the couch. Bottles of soft drinks and juice filled the table and the Mics were left beside them.
"I have something to tell you." Bambam said, breaking the silence.
Jungkook straightened his back and looked at him. Normally Bambam would joke around and smile at whatever he said or do. But he was wearing a serious expression, making Jungkook alert.
"What's it?"
"Junhoe came to school today. He asked about Minyoung." He said. Jungkook couldn't read his expression, but he felt his heart pricking.
"Why?"
"You tell me why?" Bambam said, frowning. "I thought we were friends Jungkook. I noticed it when Minyoung came to school. It wasn't the first time you met her."
Jungkook nodded. His heart throbbing in his chest cavity. "I met her in the hospital--"
"No, Jungkook." Bambam looked at him. His eyes were hard. "That wasn't what I meant."
Jungkook didn't know how this happened, but it was slipping out of his hands again. What if Minyoung knew about what happened? What was Junhoe after? If Bambam knew then what Junhoe said was true. He knew about the accident and was willing to sell his story for the media.
Jungkook sighed, running his hand over his hair. He didn't say anything to Bambam and it confirmed everything he knew.
"Does Minyoung know?"
"No." He shook his head. "She doesn't remember anything."
Bambam didn't seem to be surprised. Of course he'd know.
"Junhoe is planning something. I just wanted to warn you."
At that moment, the door opened and Jina entered the room. She scrawled before reaching for her phone.
Jungkook frowned at her. She came alone and her face didn't look well. His pulse raised that he could feel it in his head.
"Where is Minyoung?"
"I though she returned back. I went to the bathroom and she was waiting outside." She put the phone over her ears. Probably calling her. "I came out, she was nowhere."
After a few seconds of fast heartbeat, Jina left the phone from over her ears, shaking her head. Bambam snapped to his phone, trying for any lucky chance.
But nothing.
Jungkook's heart stopped in his heart. There was no way something would happen to her. She was just here a few minutes ago, singing, dancing and smiling happily.
He grabbed her jacket and sprinted out of the room.
He wasn't ready for her to disappear again.
