I have a little theory....: What if Adrein's mom was the peacock Miraculous holder (pretty much #confirmed already )and she died while being on hero duty in Tibet (hence the Tibet thingy next to the photo of mama Agreste and the peacock brooch).

After her death Gabriel kept the brooch. I think that Master FU gave Le book of Miraculous holders to Adrien's mom in the first place(and Gabriel later got it after her death),Cuz she was the chosen one,but Gabriel wasn't,Cuz Master Fu said that he lost the Papillon Miraculous, so Gabriel either stole it or found it by accident..... And he isn't using the peacock Miraculous,Cuz he doesn't need it's power,all he needs are the two main miracle stones,that belong to Ladybug and Chat noir....the "yin"and the " yan".....to "obtain god-like power" (as said by his kwami:"One who wealds both of those obtains god-like power"),to bring his wife back to life...... all he is doing,he is doing it for her....
