I am sitting in front of the T.V when my phone rings. My heart beats faster. SHIT! I look down. It's my mom, oh fuck, did Zak tell her I was lost. I pick up quickly.
"Hello mother," I say
"Hey Carmen, what's wrong?" She asks
"Nothing," I say fast
"Your lying, but oh well, where are you"
"Uhhh, New York."
"Oh right, Mr. Bagans said that." she remembers
"What? You talked to Zak?"
"Zak?" She asks, I can hear the smile in her voice
"He lets me call me that."I defend myself.
"Oh, okay, well where are you going next?" She asks, changing the subject.
" Ummm, I don't know."
" You don't know?"I can almost see her raising her eyebrows.
"Ummm, he said that it was a surprise."
"Oh, that's nice of him, surprises that fun. Anyway, I was going to tell you that Dad and I are coming home in a few days."
"WHAT?" I explode. Oh, shit I haven't planned what I was going to tell Dad about . .. my baby.
"Carmen Morgan, stop that. You will come home in 3 days, I have already talked to Mr.Bagans."
I choke, unable to say anything but "Bye."
"I love you now bye"
She hangs up and I set my phone down again, and my phone rings again.
"What the fucccccccck!" I yell, and look down
