You felt tears brim your eyes. Everything was a mess and the house was deadly silent. What once was a home of love was now the remains of a war.

You could feel the bruises beginning to throb and the fresh cut on your arm run. You weakly stood up and limped to the bathroom.

You turned on the water, watching the tub rush with warm water. You climbed in once your clothes were off, wincing as the warmth stung you.

You could still feel his touch, ghosting over your skin. You sighed as you rinsed your cut. The water turned pink, then deep red.

You rinsed your grimy hair and skin, feeling relaxed. You sat in the tub, slowly thinking of his words.

I can't be with you.
I can't stand you.
I can't love you.

You sucked in a breath, feeling sick all of a sudden. You quickly turned off the water and reached for the toilet.

The sounds of your cry and retching filled the lonely empty house.

They say the first week is the worst. You cleaned up the mess and rearranged the furniture, taking everything he owned to the trash. Even your "used" to be favorite sweatshirt from him, out.

You made sure to let your friends and family know that it was over, and you would like some time alone.

You called into work, requesting for your vacation time. You would regret it in the summer but you just needed some peace.

You hugged your couch pillow and closed your eyes. His words echoing again.

I can't be with you.
I can't stay.
I can't be held back.

You felt tears once again but shook your head. This is time to feel renewed and learn to love yourself once again.

3 weeks passed. You came back to work against your mothers wishes but you were alone now, and in need of money.

You passed by a flower shop and walked in. The smell of Geraniums attracted you. You took a whiff and sighed.

"Geraniums stand for contentment," a voice pointed. You jumped and turned around. A boy with blonde hair faced you, his lips upturned into a smile.

"Oh that's a wonderful meaning for a pretty flower," you grinned back.

"You can have one if you'd like. On the house," he said. He handed you a stem. "My name is Akiteru, by the way."

"Thank you." You breathed them in, feeling your nerves relax.

"I couldn't help but to notice you. You pass by every day since you work nearby am I correct? And then one week, you were gone and I was quite worried. You came back black and blue and I felt like I had to do something," Akiteru pointed.

You blushed. "Oh dear," you mumbled. His hearty laughter echoed into your ear. Something you haven't heard.

"Easily flustered. Just like my brother! He's very sweet but a bit stone cold. You just have to get a chance to know him," Akiteru sighed.

"I should be heading home but thank you!" You waved.

He waved back before disappearing into the back.

I can't see you as a partner I want.
I can't forget what you did.
I can't wait to be gone.

You woke up with cold sweat, rubbing your eyes. You groaned and leaned back. It was now 1 month and 2 weeks since it happened. You rubbed your arms, feeling the war scars.

You trudged your way into the bathroom to started your day. Your friend insisted that you have to get some kind of security if he comes back, so your solution was to buy a dog. A very big dog in fact.

You grinned as he rubbed against your hip, whining for his breakfast. You eagerly talked back to him, in which he barked back happily.

You poured his food and started making coffee. You decided to work half time since working full time really dragged the life out of you now.

You kissed (dogname)'s nose before leaving.

"Good morning!" Your coworker chimed.

You smiled back and started on your daily dark. You and (coworkername) have worked at the same place since you both got out of college. You were very glad to have known (he/she) for a very long time.

"Hey are you going home after lunch again?" they asked.

You nodded. "I work part time now. I have other responsibilities," you explained.

(He/she) nodded and patted your shoulder affectionately, smiling. "I hope you get through this," they whispered before whirling around to bother someone else.

"Ah! Well isn't it the lovely (y/n)," Akiteru greeted. Ever since you came across the shop, you couldn't help but to stop by every day.

You usually stayed 2 hours, just to have some company. You were busy making jokes with another employee when Akiteru stepped out with a small handful of peonies.

"What do you have there?" You asked.

"Well, these little guys got snipped out accidentally from an order. My brother said you'll enjoy these since you mooch around here," Akiteru chuckled.

You blushed but accepted them. You looked down at the assortment. Pink, red, white..

"They mean healing by the way," the employee pointed before heading to the back.

You took a small whiff and smiled. Meanwhile, a tall boy stood a distance away, turning as a small blush covered his face.
