During his choosing ceremony, Tris’ dad was initially going to choose Erudite, the faction he came from. But those thoughts changed when a beautiful woman chose Abnegation right before him. Gone were the thoughts of Erudite, and he chose Abnegation also. They bonded over the initiation and 10 years later, they had a full family together.
