Chapter 15

I ripped my hand away from his heart as if I had been burnt.

It doesn’t change the fact that he slept with Emily.

I was never the girl to forgive someone easily and I’m not going to start now.

If Christopher wants me then he’s going to have to work for it.

“Doesn’t change the fact that you slept with her and stood me up.” I glared, walking away.

I heard him sigh and grab my arm, pulling me back gently but firmly. “I said I was sorry.”

I looked back at him, irritated. “So I’m just supposed to forgive you? You’re just used to getting what you want aren’t you?”

“What do you want me to do?” He yelled, frustrated.

“I want you to leave me alone, Chris.” I glared.

His face lit up, smirking. “You called me Chris. Not Christopher.”

“It’s not like it means something.” I argued, surprised at myself for calling him Chris.

I never called him Chris. Giving him a nickname would mean that I’m close to him.

And that I’m definitely not.

He laughed. “Oh I think it does.”

I rolled my eyes. “Its just a name, Chris--topher.” I added, angry that I was going to call him Chris again.

He smirked and kissed my hand. “You like me, Rose. Even if you don’t know it yet.”

“You’re crazy.” I rolled my eyes.

“Crazy for you.” He winked, joking.

I laughed, shaking my head. “You’re such a loser!”

“You wont regret this, Rose.” He promised me, engulfing me in a warm hug.

I put my arms around his neck, hugging him back. I closed my eyes, enjoying the moment. I opened them, seeing Emily looking pissed and I pulled back, crashing his lips to mine making him moan.

“Chris we have to go.” Emily said, interrupting us.

I pulled back, pleased that she saw us.

He sighed and looked at me. Annoyance clear on his face. “I’ll call you.”

“Actually...the night is still young. Why don’t we go out? You owe me.” I teased, smiling.

“That’s a great idea.”

“What about me?” Emily whined, annoyed.

“Here,” He tossed her his car keys. “You can drive yourself. I’m going to be with Rose for a while.”

Emily rolled her eyes but left without another word.

“The county fair is close by.” He suggested.

My eyes lit up. “Really? I’ve never been to a county fair!”

Christopher looked surprised. “Really? How come?”

“My parents never took me to one. They’re not exactly…caring.” I said, embarrassed.

“Well I’m honored to be the first one to take you.”

I smiled, letting him grab my hand. We started walking away from the house and were walking by the sidewalks. Cars were speeding by but we finally managed to cross the street. I couldn’t help but notice how beautiful New York is. Sure maybe Brooklyn isn’t the safest place to live but the active nightlife was something I couldn’t ever abandon. We passed some small restaurants and a few book stores until we finally arrived at the county fair. The place was packed. Teenage girls were holding hands with their boyfriends, some were with their families and some were just hanging out with their friends.
