"Wha-what do you mean you got fired!?" I ask shocked
"Mark just called me a-nd fired me" he slumps in the chair next to me looking confused and upset
"Why?! I mean he can't just fire you for no reason!" Niall says angrily
"He said you've missed too many interviews because I can't take care of you properly. He's going to hire someone else who can 'keep you alive'" he say using air quotes "his words not mine"
"What!? It's not your fault! If anyone's it's mine Niall got this stupid flu he can't fire you because of that!" Louis shouts sounding completely pissed
"Maybe he's right. I haven't been a good enough doctor for you Niall. I should've quit when you were diagnosed. Maybe then they would have hired an oncologist who knows how to help you better and you wouldn't be here!" Daniel says sounding defeated
"No that's not true! And even if it was I wouldn't let them hire anyone else. You're a great doctor and my friend. And I'm not going to let them fire you!" Niall tells him
"What are we suppose to do though?" I ask "it's not like we have much say in anything management does!" I add
"I don't know. But we'll figure something out! I'm not going to let them fire you." Niall says determined
"Hey what's going on? Why did I just get a call from management telling me to keep Daniel away from you guys?" Paul walks into the room confused
"What!? First they fire you and now you ant even be around us!? They can't do that they don't own us!" Liam shouts
"They kind of do" I mumble earning a glare from Liam
"It's fine boys I'll go keep my distance until we figure something out" Daniel says getting up to leave
"Daniel wait!" Niall stops him "you can't just go I mean your my doctor and I don't want you to go! Fuck what Mark says!"
"I don't want to go either but I have to Niall if we want any chance of me getting hired again I should do what he says and stay away. I'll call though I promise" and with that he leaves

I run my fork thoughtlessly through the mashed potatoes on my plate with my head resting in my right palm.
Dr. Charles told me I have to eat but I just can't bring myself to and not only cause the hospital food looks repulsive. I can't stop thinking; trying to come up with ways to convince management to hire Daniel back.
Daniels been gone for a day and it feels wrong already. I didn't realize how truly close we were until he was gone. I guess when you spend practically every waking second with someone you get pretty close.
Liam called Mark yesterday trying to convince management to hire Daniel back but had no luck. The boys went to get dinner as fight with management some more but I don't think any amount of fighting will change anything. And it's not like firing Daniel has got me to interviews I haven't been able to leave my hospital bed let alone go to an interview.
And to top it all off my family flew back home this afternoon. They wanted to stay longer but I assured them I would be fine knowing they needed to get back to their lives but I still will miss them.
"Good evening Niall" my nurse Kate comes in
"Hi" I mumble not even looking up at her
"I just have to take some blood real quick" she says
I sigh making my arm from under my head and laying it at my side for her to have access to.
"Dr. Charles says that if this blood draw shows that your white blood cell count is up then you can be moved to a non sterile room!" She says sounding happy
