3rd Person POV

Sirens blared as the police car sped down the road. The noise made Ant's ears ring and he strained to hear the soft, quiet breathing of Dec.

He felt him breathing more than he heard it, really. He could feel the rise and fall of Dec's chest on his thigh. The hot air meeting his hands as his fingers ran gently across Dec's face.

Ant fluffed Dec's hair, holding a small amount loosely around his fingers. Ant was oddly calm for the situation at hand. Yes, he had been crying quietly for a good ten minutes. But once he had forced the tears to stop and got his breathing back to normal, you would almost think that everything was fine.

The male cop kept turning in his seat to watch Ant. Him and his partner exchanged a few worried glances with each other.

Hell, Ant was scaring himself. He shouldn't be this calm. He was like a ticking bomb and he knew that at any moment he was going explode and the outcome wouldn't be pretty.

The roads were slippery and Ant could hear the windshield wipers sweeping away the large amounts of water pouring on the window.

The male picked up the radio and began to talk into speaker.

"This is cop car 451, officers Benson and Stabler, Officer Stabler speaking. We've got a 24 with Declan Donnelly. Possible 10 10 at the gas station on Hudson Street. We need an officer to meet with the manager, Patrick Smith, at his household so we can get ahold of the cameras ASAP. Over."

Another voice came through. "Roger that. This is Officer Munch and Officer Tutuola. We're on our way to Mr. Smith's now. We'll give you the updates back at the station. Over."

He glanced back at Ant. "You got people at home?"

Ant nodded. "Two kids. Rowan and Dan. 14 and 18." He added their address.

The cop repeated the information into the speaker and almost immediately there was a response.

"This is Officer Amaro and Officer Rollins. We'll pick up them up now."

Officer Stabler settled back into his seat. Officer Benson had already contacted the hospital so they knew to expect them.

They had desperately attempted to clog up the bleeding by wrapping a spare towel around Dec's middle. It was now blood soaked, unfortunately, and wasn't working as well as they'd hoped.

Thankfully, it only took a few more minutes until the car was pulling up to the doors of the large building, getting as close as they could without completely driving onto the pavement.

Nurses immediately ran to the car door, pulling Dec out and wheeling him quickly inside.

Ant kept their pace, sticking next to Dec for as long as he could. He nearly screamed when Dec went through another door and a nurse stopped him.

"I'm sorry, but he needs immediate attention. He's lost too much blood as it is. The doctors need to get to work," she told him.

"And," he heard a voice behind him. "We're gonna need to ask you some questions Mr. McPartlin."

"Mind coming down to the station?"

Ant turned to the officers that had driven them there and nodded in agreement. "Fine," he sighed.

Dan ran to answer the door, swinging it open, not sure who to expect.

It was Phil and Dan was visibly grateful. He practically jumped on him in a tight embrace.
