The Missing Link (a Harry Potter reader insert story)

Robes

"Hey, what's your name anyway?" She looked up at you and smiled.

"I'm Akane, Akane Weasly. And Mr.Grumpy down there is Cancer." Those are pretty odd names. She put the robe she was holding down and began to look for another one.

"What's your name?" She momentarily stopped searching and looked at you.

"Oh, it's (y/n) (l/n)." You felt like you could trust her much more.

"Cool name." She was searching again.

"You and that boy, you've got pretty weird names." You looked at her as she held a new robe up to you. It consisted of a grey shirt, a grey robe, and a grey skirt.

"Well, none of my siblings have strange names. But when I was born my mum lost a bet, so my dad got to name me. And Cancer's family just names all their kids after constellations I think, well the first-Borns anyway, since the twins have regular names." You thought about all this for a moment, some of it actually sounded familiar, like you'd heard it before.

"Try this one on!" You yelled at you and walked out leaving you to change.

Akane's POV (when you see this it just means I'm changing point of view)

I had left the room so that (y/n) could change. I don't think she'd be to comfortable with me watching her change.

"Are you sure we can trust her?" It was Cancer, apparently he hadn't left like I thought he did.

"I thought you'd have left already Crabby." I gave him a smirk. "And what is it with you and your trust issues, your trusted me right away."  I had remembered when we first met, he had almost killed me, but then we became friends.

"That's not what I asked." He turned to me. "We don't know her, for all we know she could be a murderer." He was smiling now.

"Well if she could be a murderer, I think could be a flat-out psychopathic serial killer." I tried to sound very serious, but I'm sure my eyes have it away.

"Liar, your eyes are blue, which means your kidding." I was right. My eyes gave it away.

"Actually, your wrong. Blue is for amusement." I tried my best to always remember the different names my mom had for my emotions. I thought it was cool.    

"Oh same fucking difference." He lightly punched me on the shoulder, I kicked him in the shin.

Your POV

You had finished changing into the the outfit that your new friend had given you. It was grey, with a tank top and a skirt, covered by a large gray cape/robe. You needed to go and find Akane, who said she'd pay for your robes. You walked out of the dressing room, and found her standing a little ways away talking to her friend, Cancer.

"H-hey, guys" they were deep in conversation, talking about someone named "Olivia." Akane turned to you and beamed.

"Hey (y/n)!" She ran up to hug you, but when she threw her arms around you you tensed up in surprise.

"Eh? Are you ok (y/n)?" She looked very worried, even all you did was feel a little awkward during the hug.

"Phhttt, hahahaha!" Cancer had started to violently laugh, and held his stomach as he leaned over.

"S-she's so a-awkward!" His laughing had subsided, but he was still giggling and breathing heavily. Akane gave him an evil glare and strutted over to him.

"Oh would you stop laughing! Your a goddanm idiot!" She hit him over the head and he fell down on his back, holding his head.

"Geez.... You didn't have to hit me so hard Candycane." He stood up and smirked at her. She looked at you as her eyes turned a light shade of pink.

"I told you not to call me that...." She took the robes You had tried on and bought them. You, Akane, and Cancer went to a nearby cafe, since the next thing you had to buy was your textbooks, and she only used hand-me-downs. You were all going to meet with her family and drop her off, then you and Cancer were going to buy your books.

You had met Akane's family, and it was quite large, but what didn't realize was that Akane's mother, was your own aunt. This didn't mean you and her were related however, since Emma wasn't really your aunt, she was just always there for you, she helped raise you really. Then there was the rest of Akane's family, her youngest sister, Olivia, who had short, orange hair that was blue at the ends, along with her light pink eyes. The second youngest was a short, also red-headed, girl, who was fairly tall for her age. Then, there was Akane's older brother, who was none other than the Night Bus diver, the first person you had met on this crazy journey.

"So, (y/n), what'd you think?" Akane had a huge smile plaster on he face as she gestured to her huge family.

"They're All great." She looked at you with a confused face, then laughed and continued.

"No silly, you'll be staying with us until school starts!" She ran up and hugged you, and this time you actually returned the hug.

"Thanks, you guys are all so nice!" You were so happy, you had made new friends, found your aunt, and now you were going to a magic school! Let's just hope nothing messes this up.......
